| Posted: | | | | If a film has "uncredited cast" that has not been documented, can it be replaced with one that has documention and delete the unused "uncredited cast" ? |

| Posted: | | | | From memory here... but as I remember it Ken said not just being undocumented... that it also has to match the uncredited of another online database... like IMDb. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Found Ken's Statement on this... Quoting Ken Cole:Quote: Uncredited should only be removed where they are a match with a third party database. Note that they do not have to be an exact match. If they are a close match with any third party database, and there is no listed justification, it's safe to remove them. So just not having justification/documentation listed in the notes is not enough. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks Pete. I've often wondered about this, so it's good to see the official view.
Paul | | | Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it? Guttermouth "Lemon Water". Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally. So I'm an anarchist, deal with it. Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted... |

| Posted: | | | | I've always been of the opinion that if they are on imdb without a role and I can't visually confirm them, they probably aren't there. I've been removing these for years and never had a no vote or rejection. If they can't give any role, even a simple "man on street" or "woman in lobby", then I don't believe it.
Also check with aveleyman (dot com), if they have a picture of them from the film, it's 99.9% right. In fact I still haven't seen any wrong ones there. Some films the cast is incomplete, but what's there is solid info IMO. |

| Posted: | | | | For the most part... if it don't have a role in the credits... I leave the role blank in profiler as well. At least with the recurring and guest stars. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | My favorite is the uncredited cast with the role "bit part". Someone went through all the trouble to identify the actor, but couldn't be bothered to describe the part they actually played. Yeah, I believe that. Not to be outdone by the now infamous uncredited "scenes deleted" role. |

| Posted: | | | | Uncredited cast is something that has always surprised me as allowed in the database. Everything else is so "by the book" such as typing the overviews exactly even if misspelled and making sure credits and other information is taken directly from the discs. The idea that uncredited is allowed so long as there is documentation somewhere else (even IMDb which we seem to criticize as often inaccurate) makes no sense to me. | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

Not to be outdone by the now infamous uncredited "scenes deleted" role. Or my favorite (archive footage). But uncredited actors are important for older films, so if done right they are very helpful. But for modern movies, not so much. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |
