Quick question.
I'm about to submit the detail for seven seasons of a TV series. The box set they're part of is already in the online database (I've just submitted an update for it), but I don't think the individual seasons are.
Each season comes in its own digipak, but they don't have their own UPC/EAN; only the box set itself has one of these. Each season contains 3-6 discs.
So what do I submit the seasons under? None have their own UPC/EAN and each has several disc IDs, so I don't know what one to use for each season in the latter case, if any. And as the seasons aren't in the database, there's nothing to make an alternative version of. (I'm not submitting child profiles for each disc.)
Thanks people | | | Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it? Guttermouth "Lemon Water". Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally. So I'm an anarchist, deal with it. Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted... |

| Posted: | | | | Basically you do have to contribute Child Profiles for each disc.
This has come up before, maybe because it isn't so clear in the Rules(?).
These need to be entered as individual Disc IDs.
For example, the first Disc ID as Season 1: Disc 1, second Disc ID as Season 1: Disc 2 etc.
Then the next season - First Disc ID as Season 2: Disc 1, then the next Disc ID as Season 2: Disc 2 etc. | | | Last edited: by GreyHulk |

Quote: (I'm not submitting child profiles for each disc.) Then you're done when you submit the parent profile for the series box. --------------- |

If that's not the case, then there can be no season-level profiles as far as the online database is concerned - all data, for all seasons, is then stored in the parent. Disc-level child profiles are allowed, albeit optional, but without individual UPC's/EAN's, season-level child profiles are not. | | | Last edited: by T!M |
