It happened again...

I go and the check database-section of the website every two or three days, and if there are any unvoted pending updates, I vote for them.

Just now, I went to update my profiles in DVDP, and it suggests multiple updates that I know for certain that I have never seen up for voting! This happens pretty often - and worse, 9 times out of 10, they are updates that I would have voted "no" to, as they introduces errors.

Has this happened to anyone else? Or am I just wrong in my assumption that I get to vote for all updates to all profiles I own (as long as I have uploaded my profile-list to Invelos)..?

I'm glad you mentioned this, because I have been wondering if I'm getting senile. Now and then I see an update that makes me go "Surely I would remember seing this contribution?"

Yep, I can confirm this. Has been this way for ages, and I have no idea what triggers a submitted change being displayed or not.

AFAIK that has never happened to me. But some changes take effect immediately without voting like adding color.

Same thing here, pretty often actually.
Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it?  Guttermouth "Lemon Water".  Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally.  So I'm an anarchist, deal with it.  Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted...

Examples?

My submissions have never been approved within 2-3 days unless they're new additions and even then it's not guaranteed.  Very few updates seem to come up for me these days, but when they do most are changes to cast and crew.

Well, last one was 5050582080483 Denmark - Monk: Season One.

Someone had changed the overview - apparantly there is a new release where the episodes are split over four discs - the original had them all on three (it even says three on the back of the cover)...

Looking at the contribution notes it seems someone who is not likely to own this release contributed the changes. Although they claim to only have changed the production year...

The voting period was slightly less than four days so not exceptionally short. But short enough to miss I guess.

Another possibility is that you corrected your overview locally but never submitted your changes to the online database. Any changes (or non changes in that case) would therefor seem "new" to you.

Yet another possibility is that it was already changed back in 2015 but you refused the update then.

There's also a possibility there is another bug in the contribution system.  I've come across unique set of circumstances where certain information will be "updated" if your information is different even if you don't check the box to contribute said info.

Yes, e.g. title changes trigger an update of the media types...
