One area I've really Noticed big time is the massive speeds on the European Market..

(look at Austria 3 above...  356 Mb/s  ??  )

Do they have a different ''set of rules''  over there than we have here in North America..???

just ran their test over at Liwest and got these numbers -
Download Speed: 15874 kbps (1984.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 861 kbps (107.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Thu Nov 18 2010 15:17:37 GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time)

I got:
Download Speed: 10878 kbps (1359.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1009 kbps (126.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

I have a cable (coax) line. The "massive" speeds are typically through optical fibre. I've been reading that Europe has the best infrastructure, second only to South Korea (not many SKs around here though).

Here's mine - from London(ish). As usual, upload speed is a pittance compared to download...Don't you love the A in ADSL?

We do love the Asymetric bit in the UK!

Not that I'm complaining about my 50Mb service (mid evening too) though.  Cable is way better than anything else.

Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it?  Guttermouth "Lemon Water".  Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally.  So I'm an anarchist, deal with it.  Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted...

One company here is soon bringing a 1000 Mb/s connection to the market for 100e/month

Though it will be very limited to who can actually use this type of connection. e.g. my apartment building has fiber, but the apartments still use phone lines.

My ISP offers bandwith increase threefold at the current price, two-year contract, but, honestly, I wouldn't know how to make use of it. The biggest thing I download is a Linux distribution DVD now and then.
