| Posted: | | | | If/When you enter the purchase price on the personal page, do you include the actual price .. including any shipping or tax or do you just put in the 'sticker' price?
Thanks DSig |

| Posted: | | | | This is something that I've always been a bit curious about and wondered what other people do. I always include any additional costs, as that's what I actually paid to get my hands on the disc. It does mean I occasionally end up paying more than the SRP/RRP.
Paul | | | Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it? Guttermouth "Lemon Water". Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally. So I'm an anarchist, deal with it. Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted... |

| Posted: | | | | I include shipping but not tax. A tax attorney aquaintence told me it was the best thing to do, for insurance you can't claim tax paid, shipping is greyer. Or maybe I got very high and thought that all up, sounds good though. |

| Posted: | | | | I use full cost including shipping, tax, what have you. If it's a combination deal, I average the cost of each item. |

Not including tax or shipping/handling. To me that's extra fees. |

Not including tax or shipping/handling. To me that's extra fees. This is how I do it as well... to me the price of shipment isn't part of the price of the DVD... it is the price of nothing more then having a package shipped to me. A totally separate thing. | | | Pete |

Agreed...I don't factor in the cost of gas/wear and tear, when I go to a brick & mortor, so I don't see the point of including shipping/tax. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | If I purchase in the store, I'll take the sticker price. If it is a group bargain (buy 3 pay 4 ), I divide the purchase price by the number of items in that bargain. When I order online I distribute the shipping cost evenly over all items in that order. Other costs like customs are distributed relatively to the item prices. I use this excel sheet (contains macros for the calculation) for the calculation of item prices from foreign countries. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | I guess I always factored shipping into the price I paid (or would pay, shipping gougers got no orders from me), esp. as I got into dvd late and had to get lots of stuff off ebay. I think it also has to do with some sites having free shipping. In fact, looking at DJ Doena's post below this, that's exactly how I do it, sans excel sheet. I use my credit card statements for forgein orders with conversion (also adding in any fees for that to price), although it's been years since ordering anything from overseas for me. @ dee1959jay - |

| Posted: | | | | Just price paid for me, no shipping or tax. Oh, and Kathy, it's not looking at how much I spent, but rather how much I saved off of list...at least that's what I tell myself. |

| Posted: | | | | I love having the prices there and wish I could recall all of them from before I joined. It's hard to count the times I've run to the computer after finally getting around to watching some bargin disc I picked up and have to know, "how much did I spend on this piece of sh!!". It's also very rewarding to see many of those in the $.50 range. I've regreted a few $2-3 buys, but never regreted a fifty-center. I can almost always get that back from the used stores, usually double it! |
