Well, I am just a little bit confused! I did quite some contributions during the last weeks and a lot of them have not been part of the database before, my so called "initial profiles".
Today I did one more (UPC: 4052912972131, "Vier Stunden von Elbe 1") and altough I did everything like I it with countless other profiles, it is declined. So I don't understand why!
I'd appreciate very much an enhancement of the contribution site with kind of comments.
Especially in cases like this one I am not able to understand what happened and especially why!
And without knowing if I or what I did wrong this time, it is quite difficult to make it better the next time.

Probably the wind was blowing north to south rather than east to west.

When a profile is declined it gets a cookie-cutter explanation. What did you get?

But in principle I have to agree with scotthm, just recontribute and it'll probably get through.

My guess (and this is only a guess) is that your notes weren't specific enough.  Anything else tends to have an explanation.

Re-submit it and it'll probably be fine.

No one who can give you a really helpful answer (Invelos) will bother doing so.

Unfortunately, like others have said, one usually only receives a standard response. But...it should give you a bit of a hint why it was declined. Many times there wasn't something credited (perhaps where you got the cast/crew, for example) or perhaps you used and credited an option that isn't allowed like IMDb.com.

Other times, it could just be an accident and if you feel like your contribution has met the guidelines, re-submit. Make sure you've said where you've sourced the information you're submitting. If the rejection notice says something you disagree with, mention your argument for why it's correct. This should all help.
