| Posted: | | | | This is something that has come up a few times, most recently now with 30 Rock: The Complete Series where there is no UPC and child profiles submitted by disc. What I'm wondering is, can info such as features, audio tracks and subtitles be added to the parent profile? The rules only say: Quote: In cases where multiple complete TV seasons/series (each with distinct UPC/EAN) are packaged together, the Box-set rules are applied, treating each season/series like a single film - applying the above rules for its individual profile. And regarding the Box-set rules part: Quote: In addition to the above, the following are not included on the box set profile: Subtitles, Audio & Disc Features. List them with the individual profiles. Though as I said, these are only disc level profiling so not sure if this portion applies or not. Interestingly, doing a search, I had a similar question in the past (9 years ago now) and there really wasn't a consensus. |

| Posted: | | | | The way I see it handled often is like this: If the seasons are packaged individually with a UPC/EAN, the Complete Box is treated as a box set. If it doesn't contain UPC seasons or only discs then the Complete Box becomes THE profile since disc profiles are optional. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

Disc-level profiles are optional - if used, they should be attached to the child profiles of the individual seasons, not to the parent. If "each season/series" does not have a "distinct UPC/EAN", then all data, for all seasons, should be entered into the profile. Disc-level profiles are optional, and can be added by those who want them, but whether they're present or not, all data remains in the main profile. Quoting The Movieman: Quote: I had a similar question in the past (9 years ago now) and there really wasn't a consensus. The rules on this subject have changed since then. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | Thank you T!M and DJ Doena. | | | My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT. FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that. Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it! |
