This is the first time I've posted and I've tried searching the forums for this but couldn't seem to find anything.
I have an extensive Movie Collection and my wife has some movies as well that I'm looking to track for her. I looked into the Collection Categories to be able to separate our collections, but I cannot seem to add duplicate DVDs. Is anyone else trying to do this successfully under one account? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance |

| | Posted: | | | | If you don't want to do two accounts, you could add your wife's movies manually, not using a UPC code or disc id. You'd have to start from scratch, but if you already own the film, just copy and paste the information to the manual profile. Then use tags to easily find them (or you could create her own category and put those manual profiles into that category.)
Just as a head's up, those manual profiles would not be eligible for contribution and would be separate from the original so would not receive updates. | | | | Lori |

If there is a larger overlap between the collections, you could use Tags to mark the profiles for either one or the other collections. Tags can be filtered... Using the script sounds more like what I had in mind. I'll give it a shot and see what happens. Thank you. |

| | Posted: | | | | You could also use a tag like "My Wife's Movies" and one for "My Movies" or whatever you want. When you want to see just your wife's movies you search on her tag and the same for you and when you want to see all, you don't use a tag filter.

| | Posted: | | | | A little known fact. A few years ago, Ken added the ability for the database to handle custom profile IDs (at my request). Resulting profiles can be manipulated, sorted, filtered, backed up, exported just like official profiles - just not contributed. Not sure about upload to online, but that's easy to check. As far as I know, BulkEdit is the only plugin that supports this feature. Tools>BulkEdit>Create Custom Profile. A leading underscore will be automatically added. The remaining 15 digits of the non-locality portion of the profile ID can be any characters that are acceptable as a Windows file name, including an already existing UPC. To add a duplicate DVD, select it, then Create Custom Profile. Make sure to check the "clone from displayed profile", then select the desired locality and then "Add to" desired collection. You will then be presented with the Invelos DVD Copy/Paste menu and you can select "All" or specific portions of the profile. Your new profile will be added to your database, and the only thing that will distinguish it from other profiles, is that the "UPC" will start with an underscore ("_"). Here is an example. Have fun! It just occurred to me that I could have easily added a checkbox to copy the children of a box set parent, but alas I did not. | | | Thanks for your support.
