| | Posted: | | | | So I got this movie called Spy Intervention where, best I can tell, probably split 50/50 where some scenes, ones where our titular spy enters domesticated life is in 16x9 Widescreen (2.39 AR I believe) while the other parts, like on missions, are Full Frame (1.33 AR).
Wondering, what video format I should select. Again, this is two formats in the same movie, when the film goes from Widescreen to Full Frame, the bars basically swoop up top and bottom and in left and right. My gut says select widescreen as back cover does state "Widescreen Version, Presented to preserve the aspect ratio of its original theatrical exhibition. Enhanced for widescreen TVs" |

| | Posted: | | | | Purely from a technical point of view - in what format is the image stored/encoded on the disc? - it's certainly widescreen. It may very well be a widescreen image where in certain sections large parts of that widescreen image are filled with black bars, but it remains a widescreen transfer. |

| | Posted: | | | | Yeah, it's definitely encoded as widescreen. Took a screen capture of the 4:3 portion and the black bars on sides are present (where normally in my software on a true 4:3 picture they are not). So will submit as widescreen 1.78 AR. Thank you  |

| | Posted: | | | | The 1.78 AR has thrown me off, is this a Blu-ray? I would assume the AR would be 2.39 / 1.33. All Blu-rays are encoded at 1.78 with black bars for features with an AR other than 1.78. |

Honestly, not going to spend a whole lot of time on something like this... Don't see in the rules what to do in a case like this, nothing in there about a split aspect ratio as suggested. | | | | Last edited: by The Movieman |
