Simple question: does footage of someone's screen test or audition qualify for ticking the "Featurettes" checkbox, or should it be listed in the "Other Features" field? There's been a request for an extra feature checkbox in the "Desktop Feature Requests" subforum (click!), but since there doesn't seem to be much development going on, that doesn't seem likely to garner any results. So how do we handle this now? Do I check "Featurettes" for this, or do I list it in the the "Other Features" field?

I strongly believe it depends on how it is formatted. If it is presented along with other stuff in a documentary... then featurette.... If it is just screen test(s) by itself then it goes in other features.

The rules read

Any video documentary material regarding the film, or those associated with it.

... I don't see any room for interpretion.

If it is by itsellf I don't see how it is documentary material. The way you all are reading it virtually anything can be considered a featurette. Even the theatrical trailer as it could possiby be put into a documentary.

Thing that "could be put into a documentary" do not automatically qualify as documentary material by themselves. That includes anything that has its own entry in Features, like trailers, so they wouldn't be featurettes. But of course they could be part of a featurette.

Since there is no separate entry for screen test, it does qualifiy as featurette, in my opinion.
