Are profiles that use 'Double Feature', is that to be entered in the Title section of the Edition section?

The Box Set rules says the following:
Quote:
The title for a Box Set should be the title listed on the front cover, for example Alien Quadrilogy

Based upon that I'd say Edition.

If it only says "Double Feature" I can go along with that. where it gets tricky is in some cases "Double Feature" is part of a longer name. This is fairly common with Something Weird Video sets. To give some examples, both Something Weird and other MCs:
Action Double Feature
Al Adamson Double Feature
A Bewitching Double Feature
Bone Chilling Double Feature
Burlesque Double Feature
Camp Horror Double Feature
Exploitation Cinema Double Feature
Hillbilly Double Feature
Kinky Couples Double Feature
Monster Nudist Drive-In Double Feature
Psycho Horror Double Feature
Sizzling Latin Double Feature
Sleazy Slaughterhouse Double Feature
Taboo Double Feature
Third Sex Cinema Double Feature
etc.

In my Word doc and in my physical filing system I see those as the actual titles and use those, but in most cases, DVD Profiler listings use the titles of the two movies instead, enough so that I've been reluctant to try to change them. But in my mind those are the Title and the child profiles should cover the movie titles.

In this case, "Double Feature" suggests that we're talking about the title of a box set and not a movie, so it makes sense to me that it's part of the title and not an edition.  If you really feel the need to put this in the edition field then that should go in the child profiles that you create for the individual films.

I'd leave the movie titles in the title field and "abcd double feature" in the Edition field. It seems a bit wordy to have the movie titles AND Double Feature all crammed into the title field. I've always treated Double Feature as an Edition. The Profiler database has numerous examples of DF and the movie titles in the title field, and then the movies themselves as child profiles. There's no cast or crew in these kinds of profiles where the movie titles and DF are both in the title field, so that makes ME happy.
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!

I say it depends. Is this the one you're talking about?

If so, I would say that neither "Double Feature" nor "2 Movies" have any informational value, so I would leave them out altogether.

In the cases that AndyEN mentions I am  more ambivalent. I can see his point, but personally I would probably prefer the two individual movie titles in the title field and the named double feature in the edition field.

exactly.

If the title is a a movie title or a combination of movie titles, then Edition (it is a possibly different version of existing movies).

If the title is a generic box set title (as most of the examples of AndyEN), then the Double Feature is part of the title.

Examples?

"10"/Tarzan the Ape Man: Romance Double Feature
Ace Ventura: Deluxe Double Feature
Airplane! / Airplane II: The Sequel: Blu-ray Double Feature
Alien Nation / Enemy Mine: Double Feature 2-DVD Set
The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms / Them!: SCI-FI Double Feature
Bloodsport / Timecop: Action Double Feature
Captain America / Captain America II: Death Too Soon: Action-Packed Double Feature
Eddie and The Cruisers/Eddie and The Cruisers II Eddie Lives: Totally Awesome 80s Double Feature
Flipper/Flipper's New Adventure: Family Double Feature
Ghostbusters 1 & 2: Double Feature Gift Set
Strange Invaders / Invaders From Mars: Midnite Movies Double Feature

I think that's enough to give the idea.

Now I do have some profiles where 'Double Feature' is attached to a single film.
Such as:
Attack of the Puppet People: Midnite Movies Double Feature
Beach Blanket Bingo: MGM Movie Legends Double Feature
The Legend of Zorro: Double Feature
The Skulls: Double Feature

So when a single film is a part of some sort of 'Double Feature' I think it is fine to put some variant of Double Feature in the Edition section since it distinguishes it from other stand alone profiles of the same film.

So in conclusion, as I understand the rules.
Box Set titles should use what is on the cover to reflect what it is. Be it a collection of several films such as Star Wars films or just two films as in a double feature.

Individual titles of box sets should have such in the edition section to distinguish that profile from other profiles that may be contained in other box sets or individually.

I agree with this
