| Posted: | | | | A couple of days ago someone posted a new cast for Avengers: Endgame. I was not able to check the actual endcredits, but since there are some other roles and if it's the same as Infinity War they're part of the cast section. But I was wondering if we should list these kind of credits. I think it's supported by the rules, but I'm curious how other users handle these kind of credits. I can imagine what a reader does, but maybe it's not that simple. So what's the role of a reader in a movie. This is a screenshot from the last part of the contribution. | | | Last edited: by Gamemaster |

| Posted: | | | | It looks like the "on set" roles are the actual people in the character suits (Groot, Rocket, etc.). Every "on set" role should have a corresponding Voice role somewhere else in the cast credits. Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper just provide the voices for those 2 characters. That should have been noted in the contribution. I'll fix that when I buy it on Tuesday morning. Doubles are stand-ins and shouldn't be in the cast contribution. Reader sounds like another Voice role. | | | My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT. FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that. Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it! |

| Posted: | | | | As said they're in the cast and the rules support to list them so I have no problem listing them, but just want to know what other's think of those roles. Here you see some on-set roles. Just stand-ins so other actors know where the final characters are. And this is Robert Pralgo as Thanos reader. I don't think you can't see or hear anything from them in the final movie. David Prowse can be seen in the movie as a physical Darth Vader so for me that's something different. |

Dave Prowse was Darth Vader's body. He's physically in the film. I can see him. He deserves the credit.
A stand in who's replaced entirely by CGI and is just there so the other performers have the right eye-line to react to is not a performer. They're not in the film. They're not providing the animation and they're not motion-captured. They shouldn't be included in the credits.
Just my opinion, though. I dare say if I were one of the latter stand-ins I'd feel quite differently. |

Fair enough, but even if the filmmakers saw fit to include them within the body of the cast listing, are you saying you'd remove them from the profile? I imagine there's got to be films that credited actors who weren't even in the final movie. Just today I watched "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood". Tim Roth is listed in the credits, but his scenes were deleted. | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection My Letterboxd Page |

| Posted: | | | | So should we delete the on-set-, double- and reader roles or should we keep them? |

| Posted: | | | | My 2 cents: Keep the on-set cast that have double roles, like On-Set Rocket / Kraglin, but remove everything else (readers and doubles). | | | My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. | Posted: | | | | I treat it the same as Stunts. If included with Cast then I include them. If not with cast do not include them. I am not into second guessing why they chose to add them or not. my humble opinion only |
