| Posted: | | | | It is already there, at least in US-locality. As to the general question of whether it should be contributed or not, lets get philosophical: Is it a CD with a DVD attached, or a DVD with a CD attached? The title will certainly stay in my database, no matter what. | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki | | | Last edited: by Mithi |

The title will certainly stay in my database, no matter what. It's listed as Audio CD on Amazon, so in my opinion the DVD should be entered by disc id, not by UPC. But that's just my take on it. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

But I don't think it should contributed twice (disc id AND upc/ean). Keep in mind, that each and every profile has to be maintained in the data base. Doubling the profile means half the contribution force on each of them to maintain them...

| Posted: | | | | The "What to Contribute" section of the contribution rules explicitly state that "These discs, included as bonus discs with CDs or video games are accepted, but only contribute the DVD Video information." So yes, this can be submitted.
However, I agree with AiAustria that it shouldn't be submitted twice, under both Disc ID and EAN. Again, the contribution rules, immediately below the bit I just quoted, state: "When creating a new profile for contribution, the preferred method is to create from the UPC number", so that's what I would use here. We only use Disc ID's when we have to, when there's no alternative. But if there's a UPC/EAN, then that's the preferred method, so I see no need for a Disc-ID-based profile here. | | | Last edited: by T!M |
