Normally, if I understand correctly, if there is a set with multiple discs in the same case, each with multiple movies, you create a main profile for the set, and then child profiles for each movie. However, in some sets, and I think this is unique to Echo Bridge Home Entertainment/Echo Bridge Acquisition Corp, each of the discs themselves have a separate UPC number even though they are in the same keep case. For example, UPC 096009491444 Paranormal Collection has two discs inside: UPC 096009406349 Forever Mine/Jekyll & Hyde/The Little Shop of Horrors/Memory, and UPC 096009468248 Descendant/The Legend of Sorrow Creek'/empty Rooms/7 Nights of darkness/976-Evil II. I suspect that the same discs are used in different sets. Should I use these child UPCs in any way or just ignore them completely when creating child profiles? If they had their own separate cases it would be an easy decision, but discs with their own separate barcodes/UPCs from the one on the case iadds a new wrinkle.

Should be like this:

096009491444
  |-- 096009406349
      |-- Forever Mine (disc id of 096009406349)
      |-- Jekyll & Hyde (alt. disc id of 096009406349)
      |-- The Little Shop of Horrors (alt. disc id of 096009406349)
      |-- Memory (alt. disc id of 096009406349)
  |-- 096009468248
      |-- Descendant (disc id of 096009468248)
      |-- The Legend of Sorrow Creek (alt. disc id of 096009468248)
      |-- Empty Rooms (alt. disc id of 096009468248)
      |-- 7 Nights of Darkness (alt. disc id of 096009468248)

Since I wrote that, I noticed that others were ignoring the UPCs that are on the disc and just making them child profiles of the main UPCs, so I started following their lead with child profiles. I bet most people don't even notice that there's a separate UPC on the discs themselves. Plus it makes sense in this instance to ignore the disc UPCs as the release dates and cover images are going to change anyway depending on which set it's in.

I believe the following link displays exactly what you describe, namely, each disc has a UPC barcode on the disc label and are not individually packaged:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPsp6S3wKJQ

In which case, the UPCs on the disc labels are not profiled as per the second page of the contribution rules "What to Contribute", in particular:

"When creating a new profile for contribution, the preferred method is to create from the UPC number. The UPC (called EAN in some countries) is the number under the barcode on the DVD’s case."

So Disc-ID child profiles for the box set would be the correct solution in this instance.

Hope that answers your query.

Yeah, that makes sense, and is consistent with how other Echo Bridge releases which do this have been treated.
