I was wondering what is the proper way to enter an uncredited role for a main cast member of a TV series.

For example in McHale's Navy in the last season Ernest Borgine also plays his Italian cousin Giuseppe.

In the end credits he is credited only with playing McHale.

So would the correct way be the following.

Ernest Borgnine as Lt. Commander Quinton McHale / Guiseppe (with the Uncredited box checked)
or
Ernest Borgnine as Lt. Commander Quinton McHale
at the end of the cast list:
Ernest Borgnine as Guiseppe (Uncredited)

or would it be the first option with the Uncredited box unchecked since he is credited in the end credits anyway?

I woud go with the second option to clearly indicate which role is uncredited.

Certainly not option #1, as that would label his entire credit as (uncredited), effectively removing the credit from the CLT. That could theoretically (not in this case) even impact common-name finding, and that just wouldn't be accurate, as he *is* credited. So option #1 is out.

So to me, it's either your second or third option. In cases where the leads are given no role names on-screen (not unusual for TV shows), your third option seems to be the obvious choice. In other cases, I could support your second option.

Contributed with the second option (uncredited for the cousin role).
