| Posted: | | | | I think that's too easy.
I don't own any WWE DVD's so I don't know if they have endcredits or if it's the same what's broadcast on PPV. If it's a only a copy from the PPV there aren't any credits with the real names of the performers and the only name that is displayed on screen is the stage name.
When there are no opening- or endcredits, Luther Reigns is the only thing that's displayed and with a majority of WWE titles there's a good chance Luther Reigns is the common name. |

| Posted: | | | | That's why I opened the common name thread. But for mor than two weeks, there is not a single confiramtion for any of the WWE titles. As long as the WWE fans don't show any interest in cleaning this mess up, we have to cope without them.
For me it does not matter, which name is the common name, but I won't wait for years to get one - this said, I repeat: A very thin result. But since all his acting roles are included, I'll take this as an result for now: Matt "Horshu" Wiese. | | | Complete list of Common Names • A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1) |

| Posted: | | | | CSI: Season 9: Matthew WieseEdit: Never mind... | | | My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT. FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that. Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it! | | | Last edited: by huskersports |

When it's not possible to determine a common name with a common name thread I think CLT is the only source which is legit to use and is supported by the rules as well. I've send some PM's to some of the contributors, but unfortunately I haven't had an answer. Though they are hard to find I have found one DVD and that one does not have any opening- or endcredits. Since all the documentaries, even the new ones, doesn't have credits also I think none of them have endcredits, but maybe someone I've send a PM to, can confirm that. If none of them have endcredits it's pretty easy to check the shows. |

| Posted: | | | | Personally, I'm so completely and utterly uninterested in the whole WWE world, those silly stage names and those badly-maintained DVD profiles, that I'm personally perfectly happy to use the common name of his *actual* acting credits. Listing him under his WWE stage name has absolutely no value whatsoever to me. I'll do it if I must, but I'd like to see a dozen or so of those WWE credits confirmed first. I simply don't trust the accuracy of those profiles, nor am I convinced that these are even valid cast credits. If those confirmations never come, I'd personally rather stick with Matt "Horshu" Wiese.
If, as Gamemaster says, many of these things don't have any opening nor closing credits, then are we even agreed that there *should* be credited cast members in those profiles? I gather that there may be stage names seen on-screen, during the feature, but aren't those really role names rather than cast names? Again, I have absolutely zero interest in that whole world, but they sure sound like role names to me. And if the actor's names aren't included, then they're uncredited. So I could imagine entering something like that as Matt "Horshu" Wiese playing the role of "Luther Reigns", and then checking the (uncredited) box for that entry. Then none of these would show up in the CLT, and the common name would remain the one that was found here. I'm not all convinced that any of these WWE titles listed here should really be deemed valid cast credits. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | WWE is sports entertainment not acting In case of WWE it's a bit difficult to say if it's a role name or a stagename. I tend to a stagename. In all other appearances they also use the WWE name most of the time. Dwayne Johnson was credited as The Rock in his first movies. And there are tons of other movies where the WWE name is used as the castname. The rules say that we can use actors credited elsewhere if there aren't any end credits. And when a wrestler makes an entrance his/her name is always displayed on screen. But I d But the biggest problem I had, a common name was determined with still 15 unconfirmed titles because nobody was able to confirm them within two weeks. What happens the next time when there are unconfirmed titles. |

What happens the next time when there are unconfirmed titles. IMHO, nobody really "determined" anything. AiAustria merely said: "I'll take this as an result for now". I happen to agree, in this particular case, but he's not saying everyone must do the same. What happens the next time when there are unconfirmed titles? That happens all the time - common name-finding threads aren't just useful when they're conclusive. Each one helps clarifying the raw CLT numbers. When I'm working on any given profile, chances are that there is an open (inconclusive) common name-finding thread on at least one, but likely many more, of the cast/crew members involved in it. That doesn't mean that I'll hold off contributing that profile until that/those threads become conclusive. Remember that this applies to pretty much every profile we work on - so then we could never contribute anything. No, at any given point, for any given cast/crew entry, you need to decide "what is this person's common name right now, today?" And there are lots of ways of dealing with that: you can, for instance, simply enter what you see on-screen, not even checking the CLT or looking if there's a common name-finding thread. Or you can check the CLT, and/or look for common name-finding threads. And when such a thread is inconclusive, you need to use the information available to you to decide what's the best way to list that person at that particular point in time. Basically, the idea is that everyone does this to the best of their ability, also depending on how much time yoy want to spend on it. So you do the best you can, and chances are that, at some point, someone else comes along to add, remove or fix one of those entries, for instance when more of a person's credits have been confirmed. And that's perfectly fine, that's how it works. You simply do the best you can, based on the information available to you today. Can things be different the next day, the next week, the next month, next year? Sure they can. And will different users interpret the available information in different ways? Until things are *really* conclusive, sure they will. Again: that's just how it works... In this particular case, I'm making a particular choice based on the fact that I don't trust the accuracy of those WWE profiles, nor am I completely convinced that these are even valid cast credits. With a dozen "hard" confirmations, it'd be a different story, but as of yet, with the information available now, Matt "Horshu" Wiese is the choice I'm making today. In another case, where I happen to have more faith in the accuracy/validity of the unconfirmed credits, I might very well decide differently. Again, every time something like this isn't absolutely conclusive, you just do the best you can, trying to make an informed decision based on the information available to you at that particular moment. But yeah, everyone's choices won't always be the same, and new information might result in changes later on. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | I can confirm the WWE pay-per-view's don't have any credits, As said the only thing what is displayed during those is an entrence video on a titantron. For example here you can see the entrance video for Luther Reigns. For me that's not enough for a credit. If no one disagrees I suggest to leave all of those ppv's out of the common name threads from now on. So if no one disagrees: SummerSlam 2004 --> No credit --> InvalidWWE Armageddon 2004 --> No credit --> InvalidWWE Holiday Tribute to the Troops --> No credit --> InvalidWWE Judgment Day 2004 --> No credit --> InvalidWWE No Mercy 2004 --> No credit --> InvalidWWE No Way Out 2005 --> No credit --> InvalidWWE Royal Rumble 2005 --> No credit --> InvalidWWE Survivor Series 2004 --> No credit --> InvalidWWE The Great American Bash 2004 --> No credit --> InvalidWWE WrestleMania 21: Collector's Edition --> No credit --> Invalid |
