I'm just wondering, as this has come up currently on a contribution, for a collection of movies, does the Digital Copy get checked for the individual child profiles (entered by Disc ID) or just the parent? Would it make a difference if their is just one code for the entire collection? |

It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it! |

| | Posted: | | | | I'm not going to lie, I don't know the "correct" answer... but when I've come across this I've checked the Digital Copy feature for all profiles involved, where applicable. As the contribution rules say to not enter features for the parent set, there's no other place for the digital copy to be included other than in the child profiles (if that's how the box set is set up).
Even if there was just one code for the entire collection, again, the contribution rules say don't enter features for a parent profile (again, if that's how it's set up), so the digital copy would need to be entered into the child profiles.
I also enter it this way for television shows as well... because... well... you can't really have the child profile without the parent profile, and the digital copy applies to all episodes across all discs (and if you do by some chance get just one disc or something, if entering it into your collection, you'd be able to see that it did at least at one point come with a digital copy). | | | | The night is calling. | | Posted: | | | | There's no clear precedent, but I think basing on the number of codes is a silly, arbitrary distinction. There are plenty of movies in the DB that weren't done this way. Also, putting it on the individual features gives us a way to capture it if some movies in the collection aren't covered by the code, which sometimes happens with bonus feature films. |

| | Posted: | | | | So I checked my own database. LOTR Extended Trilogy has the DC not checked in the parent profile and checked in the children. The theatrical version however has it checked in the parent profile... but not the children. At this point I doubt the rules will change thus I'll just abstain my votes. |

| | Posted: | | | | If it's a box set UPC with the children as individual Disc IDs, I would go with the parent profile. In that case, it doesn't personally make sense to me to include it with the children. It's like denoting a booklet that came in the box set. Should go with the box set UPC not the individual disc IDs.
