| Posted: | | | | In the New User forum yesterday I had asked for help regarding being able to create a custom "parent" title and being able to move "children" titles under it. This was asked because I'm OCD (lol...kinda) and want to group similar titles together.
I received the solution I was hoping for, by changing the way I think and treating a group as a box set. I created manual titles with, essentially, empty information, then assigned the child titles to that parent title. So as I go through my collection, all of the James Bond titles (for example) will be grouped together instead of scattered alphabetically.
But I noticed that when I create a Manual DVD, the program is keeping a count of how many I have done. I see this when go to edit the profile of a Manual DVD.
I don't have a screenshot to attach but I'm looking at one that says "Edit Profile - Manual DVD #31 - X-Men [Franchise]". This is one I created to put all of the X-Men movies together. But I don't see where the #31 can be removed.
It's not a pressing issue, more of just something that caught my attention and wanted to bring it up. Can it be removed? |

| Posted: | | | | The number can be changed but not eliminated. This is the "Manual ID" number, and every profile must have either a UPC number, a Disk ID number, or a Manual ID number.
You can change the Manual ID number by going to the DVD menu and selecting the Change UPC / Locality item. On this dialog box you can change the Manual ID, but it must be unique.

| Posted: | | | | As Scott says every profile must have an ID. It's just a principle of every database.
The profile ID will also determine the filename of the cover images on your hard drive. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
