| Posted: | | | | Most times the company credits at the beginning of a movie are handled this way: Theatrical Release Studio(s) present A Production Company productionHowever the credits for The Shawshank Redemption don't follow along with this rule. Here are the opening credits: Besides this credit there are no other company credits at the beginning. In the end credits there are the following company credits: So the question is which company gets a credit in which section (studio or media company)? Should Warner get a credit as distributor (in the media company section)? There is no other evidence on the cover or the back cover that Warner is somehow involved in this release (since the title was released by EuroVideo here in Germany) Does Columbia Pictures get a credit as Theatrical Release Company (in the studio section) or does Castle Rock Entertainment count as both (studio and releasing company)? | | | Think different
Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end. |

Warner Bros. is the home video distributor, and should be listed under media company.

--------------- My research tells me this is correct. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar |

Except it's not the home video distributor in Germany. So if this is a German profile I doubt it should be listed at all because they had nothing to do with this release. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Nexus the Sixth |
