Actually you don't have too. Creating disc level child profiles is only optional (mainly for those who track discs watched). What is required, however, to complete the profile is entering all the disc info (discID and episodes numbers) in the main profile.
Adding the extra discs via the disc ID to the main profile is what I've been doing and since I'm currently watching the seasons anyway, I could as well add a new child profile for every disc before I put the next one into my DVD drive.

The rules for the creation of an alternate version of an existing discID profile just require largely different cover images (e.g. Disc ID profiles shared among different box sets). If the difference is only in the placement of the various text boxes, indeed you should not. But if the picture on the cover is different, you should submit an alternate.
I would say that the cover image differes quite a bit and it's not only that the text boxes are in different spots but that the information is different:
Existing profile:
Cover:
click (ignore the stickers)
Title of the main profile: South Park: Die komplette elfte Season: Uncensored
Title of the child profiles: "South Park: The Complete Eleventh Season: Disc Eins" (etc.)
Release date: 9.7.2009
Case type: Digipak
EAN/UPC code: 4010884538267
The region code only was the wrong one in the preview, it's fine in the actual profile.
My season 11:
Cover of the box:
clickCover of the season 11 keep case:
clickTitle of the main profile: South Park: Seasons 11-15
Title of the child profiles: South Park: Die komplette elfte Season: Disc One (etc.)
Release date: 24.11.2016
Case type: Keep case
EAN/UPC code of the box: 4010884592993 (no extra code for the single seasons)
The back cover my season 11 amaray is exactly the same as the one from
this profile (released in 2011 but no disc IDs yet) except that it's missing the EAN code.
I wouldn't mind adding extra child profiles because, like I already said, I'm currently watching the seasons anyway - unless you say that there's no point and I should rather keep it simpler-ish with only the disc IDs.
The question is: Is
this the right way of doing it? Create a clone, then change/delete all the wrong information?
