| Posted: | | | | Looking to determine the common name for sound crew guy Jack C. Jacobsen/Jack Jacobsen/Jack C. Jacobson.Any help as always is greatly appreciated! With Jaws 3 and Apocalypse Now having troubles coming to a conclusion throughout the system on original titles (and production years), it looks like the CLT numbers are pretty skewed in some cases. Here's the current breakdown: Jack C. Jacobsen CLT 22/78 (3 Confirmed)-Fort Apache the Bronx (Confirmed by Merrik) -Who Is Harry Kellerman and Why Is He Saying Those Terrible Things About Me? (Confirmed by Merrik) -Jaws 3 (Confirmed by Merrik) Jack Jacobsen CLT 16/119 (5 Confirmed)-The Cotton Club (Confirmed by Merrik) -F. Scott Fitzgerald and "The Last of the Belles" (Confirmed by Merrik) -John and Mary (Confirmed by Merrik) -Kramer vs. Kramer (Confirmed by Merrik) -The Warriors (Confirmed by Merrik) Jack C. Jacobson CLT 4/26 (1 Confirmed)-The Boys in the Band (Confirmed by Merrik) 12 Unconfirmed CreditsApocalypse Now Crawlspace (1972) Endless Love (1981) The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight Gloria (1980) Goodbye, Columbus House of Dark Shadows Man on a Swing Rachel, Rachel The Subject was Roses Without a Trace (1983) You're a Big Boy Now IMDB currently has another listing for Jack C. Jacobson that I'm unable to find any extra information on to see if they're actually the same person or not. They currently have the following titles attributed to him (that are in the system): Jack C. Jacobson CLT 4/26 (1 Confirmed)-Love Story (Confirmed by AiAustria) 2 Unconfirmed CreditsThe Dain Curse Oliver's Story It appears that the only overlap THEY credit to the same name here (Jack C. Jacobson) is The Boys in the Band (they say it's the first guy, Jack C. Jacobsen credited as Jack C. Jacobson and not the separate listing they have for the other Jack C. Jacobson). I'm not sure where else to search as I haven't yet found reliable information that would either link the two or separate the two, any help on that would also be greatly appreciated. | | | The night is calling. Jacobson: Oliver's Story The Dain Curse
Jacobsen: Cotton Club The Chosen Endless Love Fort Apache the Bronx Gloria Kramer vs. Kramer Starting Over The Warriors First, You Cry Just Me and You Thieves Forever Young, Forever Free ...
There is also a cross over for the Producer William C. Gerrity
Jacobsen: F. Scott Fitzgerald and 'The Last of the Belles'
Jacobson: The Dain Curse That's possibly a good indication. I know that some sound crews work together constantly. I'm going to keep them separated for the moment, hopefully I'll (or someone else) will be able to find some real conclusive evidence to either link or separate the two. Also, is freaking Production Recordist a valid credit??? | | | The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play. |

| Posted: | | | | Since there hasn't been much movement, I've been searching the internet and found all the following available to stream.
Endless Love (1981): Jack C. Jacobsen credited as Sound
*note - just so there's no confusion, Jack C. Jacobsen is the first credit in the sound section credited as sound. Directly underneath him, there's three credits for Sound Mixer. These credits could, to some, be seen as Production Sound Mixers which would mean that Jack C. Jacobsen wouldn't be credited. In the program though, when adding a Re-Recording Mixer, the following note is there "Sound Mixer*when listed within the Sound section of the credits" so these credits actually correspond with the Re-Recording Mixer credit, and therefore Jack C. Jacobsen is allowed to be contributed to the profile.
The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight: Jack Jacobsen credited as Sound Gloria (1980): Jack C. Jacobsen credited as Sound Mixer Goodbye, Columbus: Jack C. Jacobsen credited as Production Sound Mixer House of Dark Shadows: Jack C. Jacobsen credited as Sound (as with Endless Love, there's a Sound Mixer credited, but he's credited with the two Sound credits which would make them Re-Recording Mixer credits). Man on a Swing: Jack Jacobsen credited as Sound Mixer Rachel, Rachel: Jack Jacobsen credited as Sound The Subject was Roses: Jack C. Jacobsen credited as Sound Without a Trace (1983): Jack C. Jacobsen credited as Sound Mixer You're a Big Boy Now: Jack Jacobsen credited as Sound Mixer | | | The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play. | | | Last edited: by Merrik |

| Posted: | | | | Well... that sucks. I found an online stream of Crawlspace (1972) but there's barely any credits on the stream what-so-ever, some at the beginning and then nothing at the end. Of course because I don't own it and can't actually watch a disc of it, I don't know if the stream just has the closing credits cut off or not. I've also listed Apocalypse Now as an invalid credit. Production Recordist doesn't appear in the crew chart and I'm not entirely sure if we did credit it, which credit it would even correspond with (and there are quite a few other sound credits on the film so it's not like the sound crew would be empty without these credits). Still no luck on determining whether or not the two Jack's that IMDB credits separately are actually the same person and just an error on their part or not. It's the only place I've found that gives fairly reliable information about the credits, and without any further evidence I have to keep them separate for now (not that I believe it would change anything at all as the credits probably wouldn't sway the totals at all). The joys of the common name system... | | | The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play. |

| Posted: | | | | Unless there's any objections to the credit for Apocalypse Now being invalid (and justification as to why it should be included as it's not in the crew chart) then the common name for now stands as Jack C. Jacobsen. If the credit for Apocalypse Now were to be included that would give us a tie, and he hasn't worked since the early 80's so we're not getting anymore credits to break at tie...
If anyone wants to add anything please do, or if anyone finds some solid evidence to link the two Jack's please post that as well. | | | The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play. |
