Yesterday, a Blu-ray of Dario Argento's Phantom of the Opera was released by German label X-Rated.
There are two versions available. One edition with just this movie on Blu-ray and DVD, the other edition comes with two other Argento films (Sleepless & Trauma) on Blu-ray. Each film comes within it's own mediabook and is labeled as Eurocult Edition #20A, 20B & 20C. Each mediabook has an EAN code printed on but this code is identical for all three films: 4260252115402

How to enter this into the database?

1. Parent: Phantom of the Opera
      -Child with disc id: Sleepless
      -Child with disc id: Trauma

2. Parent: Phantom of the Opera
-Child with EAN (alternative version): Sleepless
-Child with EAN (alternative version): Trauma

3. Parent: Phantom of the Opera
    Parent (alternative version): Sleepless
    Parent (alternative version): Trauma

parent profile of a box set containing multiple films cannot have cast, crew, audio, subtitles, disc id's.

should be

parent - Box Set title (UPC)
child - Phantom of the Opera (disc id)
child - Sleepless (disc id)
child - Trauma (disc id)

child profiles added to box set contents. no disc info in parent.

none of the options above are correct. Unless Trauma and Sleepless are bonus films.

Okay, another option.
My problem with this option:
This was announced as a release of Phantom of the Opera and not as a triple feature.
When Phantom of the Opera is just another child profile, what should be the title (and cover) of the parent profile?
There is no box or any kind of package to bundle those 3 mediabooks together. Also the whole edition is sold under the title Phantom of the Opera.

I don't see any box set here. I would enter them as alternative versions with the same EAN.

I agree with iPatsa.  Box Sets are 100% based on packaging.  If these individual packages are not held together in a package of some kind, it is not a box set.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.

We will teach it to them again.

Also agree... this is not a box set.
