Hello all....    There are closing credits in the film that have not been provided yet (for UPC 786936-849769) that I have questions about their inclusion.  These additional credits appear following the main Cast credits.

1.  There is a heading for BB-8 Voice Consultants  with Bill Hader and Ben Schwartz underneath.  I don't know if this means they actually provided a voice/sound, or just made suggestions for voice sounds.  Does anyone have any background production information about this, and whether they should be included in Cast credits or not for this profile?

2.  There is a heading for Creature and Droid Puppeteers  with nearly 50 names underneath.  Many of them I recognize as being credited within other DVDP profiles with "(puppeteer)" cast credits.  But I have also seen past forum postings where there is disagreement other whether this grouping should be included as Cast or not included because they are Crew.  What are the current thoughts of the DVDP membership regarding this topic?

3.  There is a heading for Additional Voices  with 31 names underneath.  Many of them I recognize as being credited within other DVDP profiles with "(voice)" checkbox cast credits.  Can these folks be included into the Cast Credits for this profile?

Thanks much for all of your (hopefully) cheerful discussion and answers!

I seem to recall 'BB-8 Voice Consultants' has already been discussed and was discounted because, as you say, we just don't know what they actually did.

'Creature and Droid Puppeters' can go in the Cast under that heading and (puppeteer) applied as you suggest.

There is absolutely no reason we can't include 'Additional Voices' either.

My thought is that all puppeteers are crew, but I don't get to run this place.

I guess I should have checked into this topic before posting.  Viewing an article on Wikipedia brings forth a piece of information that may suggest that Bill Hader and Ben Schwartz should have voice credits added to this profile.

The voice of BB-8 was supplied by comedians Bill Hader and Ben Schwartz, both credited as "BB-8 vocal consultants" in the film. The voice was created by Abrams manipulating their voices through a talkbox, attached to an iPad running a sound effects app.

With this in mind, what would the DVDP membership think about including this Cast credit?

Well, I think you answered your own question.  The voice was created via an ipad...which is probably why they were credited as 'voice consultants' instead of 'voice'.  No credit in my opinion.

I actually already posed this question (at least in part) a couple weeks back:

Thanks for the update and link to your posting, Movieman.  I should have done a better job of searching and researching before posting the BB-8 voice credit question.

To all.....  So far, most say NO to (1) BB-8 Voice credit, but YES to including (2) Creature and Droid Puppeteers and (3) Additional Voices.  Any other views on this topic are appreciated!

So the Episode moniker is gone from the cover, but do we still enter Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens as Original Title, since that is what the on-screen titles say?

This sounds like a good idea for a change to the Original Title field only, as profiles for previous film episodes of this series have been described the same way.  Good catch, iPatsa!
