| Posted: | | | | Hello all... I have searched through the Forum looking to see if this question has already been asked, and have not found any reference, so here goes...
In the closing credits of this film, there are Group references for E.T. Operators and Special E.T. Movement (with Coordinator). What I wonder is should these folks be included within the DVDP database credited as:
1. Cast with group dividers and "(puppeteer)" appended. - or- 2. Crew assigned to Art/Visual Effects. - or - 3. Not included.
Just wanting to ask for your opinions to determine if and how they should be referenced. Thanks much for all of your responses! | | | Last edited: by perryoakridge |

| Posted: | | | | I know very little about crew credits.. but from the sounds of it... sound like to me they shouldn't be credited at all. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Thank you all so far for your responses. I'll agree with you and not include the E.T. Operators/Movement groups in a future update.
While I have your collective attention, I have another question to ask...
There are two other credits at the end of this film that I am curious about, and wondering if they should be included within Crew / Art.
4. Beverly Hoffman is credited with E.T. Eyes Design. Would this be catergorized as Creature Design by the DVDP Rules?
5. Dale Martin is credited as Special Effects Coordinator. Would this be categorized as Visual Effects by the DVDP Rules?
Again, thanks much for your kindly responses. | | | Last edited: by perryoakridge |

This exact question was brought to the forum before... and if I am remembering correctly it was determined to not add it as it takes more then eye design to make a creature. Quote: 5. Again, thanks much for your kindly responses. I don't know enough about the crew jobs or rules for the crew to help you here. Sure someone will be able to though. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Regarding question 5: the rules explicitly state that a special effects coordinator can be entered provided no special effects supervisor is credited anywhere in the credits. If this requirement is met, he can be entered for Visual Effects. | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

This exact question was brought to the forum before... and if I am remembering correctly it was determined to not add it as it takes more then eye design to make a creature. Here's the link to that thread/poll. Judged by the response on that one, I have not included it in my contributed 'E.T.' profiles. Dale Martin's "Special Effects Coordinator" is valid here, as there's no "Special Effects Supervisor" credited. | | | Last edited: by T!M |
