Common Name for Jack (F.) Gallagher

I started a thread to get some clearance about all the John/Jack (A./Joseph) Gallagher (Jr.) out there lately. This thread brought some results, but did not solve the main problem: Who is who?

Therefore I have to rely mostly on IMDB to split this monster thread to single common name finding threads...

Here is the thread for:

(I) Jack Gallagher IV (1953): Actor, Writer - aka. Jack F. Gallagher
Born August 15th, 1953
Known for: Shakes the Clown, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Moneytrack and various TV and Improv shows
Documentation: Wikipedia, IMDB as Jack Gallagher IV
Remarks: The Wikipedia site states that this one has allso appeared in Heartbreak Ridge (B) and Incident at Ruby Ridge (L) - but this seems not to be really proven with references...

The common name based on the above list (mostly CLT) is Jack Gallagher (1953).

By separating CLT entries by filmography you have shown what the common name is from a CLT perspective.

From the perspective of the proven common name this thread is not conclusive. If enough of these "Jack Gallagher" are actually "Jack F. Gallagher" the common name could be different.  To be conclusive the total number of unconfirmed titles from all names must be considered.

This is most likely "Jack Gallagher", but the thread is not 100% conclusive

Agreed.

Why did I assume the common name:
a) currently there are more Jacks
b) the potential of even more Jacks out of Curb Your Enthusiasm is enormous

What should I do?

What you have here is a very valid interpretation of the common name based on the CLT.

I would just note that where you state the common name, point out that it is currently based on that.

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" will not make that enormous

In "Heartbreak Ridge" is a Jack Gallagher credited, IMDb tells for all other films of him John Gallagher. So is this a John Gallagher [Jack Gallagher]? He is not an Actor in this common name thread, right? His films are:

I did see it. I did just ask, seems that this John Gallagher is only 1 times credited as Jack Gallagher and they entered Jack Gallagher as his common name, also it should be John Gallagher [Jack Gallagher] because has nothing to do with the Jack Gallagher's here in the thread.

Hi,

Maybe I got it now...

First: Because of the naming problem I've created characters for each of the Gallaghers I reference within theses threads. Therefore I call them (A) to (M)...

This thread here is about (I) who is called Jack Gallagher IV in the IMDB...

The John Gallagher [Jack Gallagher] appearing in Heartbreak Ridge is listed here; I call him (B), the IMDB John Gallagher I

But it is true that this topic is rather confusing last not least because Wikipedia lists Heartbreak Ridge as one of the features in which this Jack Gallagher here appears in...
