By the rules I think that the title should be:
Iron Maze: A Labyrinth of Deception from the cover
Original title: Iron Maze from screen. I think you're right. "A labyrinth of deception" is right beneath the title and doesn't look like a tag line or edition, so this seems to be the DVD title of the film. | | | Recently bought films:

| Posted: | | | | It was me the submitted the change, though not that cover. The original title is Iron Maze, and the tagline should not count as part of the title. Shall we change this: Parker: Payback Has a New Name or what about this: The Prince: Mercy Is for the Weak Here is the official poster from the CoO: |

Suffice to say that to me, these are all taglines, and therefore not part of the title. |

I think we all agree about the original title of the film as seen on the poster posted by you. The question is: What is the dvd title of the film? In the two examples you provided the difference in font size between original title and the additional text is much bigger and the wording of the text makes it quite obvious that it is meant as a tag line. But here the difference in font size is not very big and the wording more sounds like an alternative title. In Germany we have this style of titles all the time: "[Original Title] - [Addition explaining or expanding the meaning of the title]" and I think this is also the case here. In cases where it is not obvious I often take a look at the spine: If the text is there then it is obviously part of the title. If not it might just be a tag line. | | | Recently bought films:

If you really truly believe you're not allowed to research data, then you should not be contributing or voting. At all. I'd watch out for submissions and votes from this guy. | | | 99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1." |

| Posted: | | | | The cover as posted by the OP is a Dutch release by Dutch FilmWorks.
I can't get their website (www.dfw.nl) to show me how they have it listed. However the largest e-tailer in the Netherlands has it listed as "Iron Maze": http://www.bol.com/nl/p/iron-maze/1002004000042758/.
They are however showing a different cover, without the tagline, or whatever that is.
Might well be a re-release. In any case: "Movie Gold Collection" is a series of releases by Dutch FilmWorks. |

Nowhere does it say you can't do a little research to determine what, of all the text that is on the cover, is the actual title. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Exactly... I always use other areas of the cover to help me determine what part of the front cover text is the title of the release and what part is not. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I thought the credit block on the back cover also plays in situations like this. If that includes the tagline, then the tagline is part of the title. Just like how we determine possessives. The US version has no tagline FWIW. |

| Posted: | | | | This thread got me to finally watch my dvd I bought when Hollywood Video closed 5 years ago. I should've waited longer, but at least now I can sell it! Kinda fun first half, horrible second. Even worse payoff, or lack thereof Also amazing how Bridget could be naked like 5 times and not even show a glimpse of side-boob. I'm pretty sure I'll get my 50 cents back, even with the cut up to fit normal dvd case cover. |
