| Posted: | | | | Shine America is the name of an American production company. According to wikipedia, the company's name includes the America part, but the contribution rules say: Omit any locality-specific suffix. e.g. Enter Paramount Home Entertainment, not Paramount Home Entertainment (UK) So, what should be contributed? Shine or Shine America? | | | Think different

| Posted: | | | | I went with Shine America, as it appears there aren't any other Shine companies. I interpret the rule as being for multi-national corporations that have companies in countries around the world. | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server |

Shine (or Shine TV), and Shine America are two seperate companies. The former is based in the UK, the latter is based in Los Angeles. The "America" in Shine America is an integral part of the company name.
Another such company where "America" wasn't a mere "suffix", but was an integral part of the company name was the now defunct Pathé-America, distributors of Peckinpah's first film, The Deadly Companions and the Hayley Mills film, Whistle Down the Wind, among others. |

| Posted: | | | | The example in the rule gives perfect context...in this case, it is not a locality specific suffix. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar |
