| Posted: | | | | When comparing results for names how do we take into account honorifics?
Because right now the only way to show results for names that includes an honorific is to search for the credited as name that includes it.
Just an example, in the Concert for New York City a New York Firefighter appears on stage. His name is Matt Long, but his honorific includes FDNY. If you search for Matt Long he won't show up in the CLT. Include his full credited as name including the honorific he shows up. But only him.
So do we ignore his honorific and determine that the actor with the same name needs a birth year or not. |

There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar | | | Last edited: by TheMadMartian |

Just another reason why this system is a POS!
If his name without the honorific is used by someone else, then yes, you will need to use a birth year. | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

Yes, the honorific goes in the "credited as" field only, so for determining whether the actor with the same name needs a birth year or not, we ignore the honorific. In other words: yes, he'll need a birth year. |
