I was wondering, can dividers be used for separating writing credits? For example, many of the DC Universe Animated movies have separate credits for each character (i.e. Superman Created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster; Batman created by Bob Kane, etc) and right now there are just a jumbled with "Original Characters by" attached. Locally I've added some but wasn't sure if it can even be submitted.

Per the rules, only if those dividers mirror the actual credits.

Locally, I use custom roles for this.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

In that case, it'd be allowed as during the end credits scroll, that I've seen, goes like this:

Superman Created by
Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster

Batman Created by
Bob Kane

The rules don't allow for a group divider on the "Batman Created by" credit because Bob Kane is not a "crew team".

So if we cannot use it for the one, should we really use it for the other?

I don't consider those dividers, those are simply credits much like...

Hair and Make-up by
Joan Smith & John Smith

are simply credits and don't warrant a divider.

While I understand the desire, this isn't what the dividers were designed for.

I agree, but I feel the same way about song credits and look where we are with those.

And I notice that the latest proposed rules update proposes nothing to help clear up the matter.

Ah, ok. Then will have to keep local. Kind of a pain to have to go back and add them in if I want to submit. Also unfortunate the rules update doesn't address it.

I fully understand where you are coming from...which is why I use custom roles.  Those allow me to have the data I want and still be able to contribute, should I need to, without having to do that.
