| Posted: | | | | I don't use DVD Profiler everyday but update my collection as I add or delete movies. Today, after purchasing some new movies, I booted up DVD Profiler from my desktop and my entire collection is gone. The program works fine but no collection, it blank. Not tragic but a whole lot of work to re-inventory and reenter everything. Any suggestions or opinions on why this happened and what to do so that it doesn't happen again? Better still, can I get my collection list back somehow? (Version 3.8.2 Build 1542) | | | Last edited: by lburney |

If so, you can easily restore your collection database in the program from a backup file. It's also possible that your database just isn't loading in the program for some reason. In the program, go to File ---> Open Database and see if it shows anything there to open. If not, and you've "uploaded" your collection to Invelos in the past, you may still be able to "download" your collection again. But you'll lose any custom coverscans, etc.. In the program, go to Online ---> DVD Profiler Online... ---> Next ---> DownloadThat would only be as current as your last "upload" of your collection, but it may be better than nothing if you have no other option to recover your database. | | | Corey |

| Posted: | | | | You might try and search your system for any file with the extension *.dpb. Those are DVD Profiler database files.
The default location for such files is below your My Documents folder in My Documents / DVD Profiler / Databases. |

| Posted: | | | | I notice that you registered here in August, 2013. I assume you've had DVD Profiler for at least as long and that you open it to add/delete DVDs/BDs. DVD Profiler's normal mode of operations is that if you haven't backed up your database within a certain amount of time, DVDP reminds you to backup. If you haven't completely ignored the warnings to backup your database, you should have a relatively recent backup of your database to restore so that you shouldn't need to re-enter everything again manually. If you have ignored DVD Profiler's warnings to backup your database, then... | | | Time is the fire in which we burn. (Soran) | | | Last edited: by kd5 |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks guys for all the suggestions. Found the old (backed up) database collection. Had been moved to a different folder (I probably wasn't paying attention during the last backup). Anyhow, all back to normal now and in its right place. Thanks! |
