| Posted: | | | | Quoting emmeli: Quote: so i must make this? J. J. Perry [J.J. Perry] That would be correct. Even if you didn't, as soon as you upload a profile with J.J. Perry in the credit field it will automaticly be changed from J.J. Perry > J. J. Perry [J.J.Perry] by the program. | | | Last edited: by ateo357 |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting emmeli: Quote: so i must make this? J. J. Perry [J.J. Perry] You don't have to make it anything. But upon submission J.J. Perry is automagically converted to J. J. Perry [J.J. Perry] for the online database. There are a handful of these auto-filters that are applied. For example commas are inserted after a name and before some suffixes (Jr. Sr., etc) so Robert Downey Jr. becomes Robert Downey, Jr.[Robert Downey Jr.]No rule is required because no action on the users part is necessary (other than entering the credit as found on screen). A lot of petty squabbles and whining was eliminated with the addition of these filters. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | All are correct here, you will hear it referred as the "filter", actions done automatically by the Invelos contribution system. It makes the common names consistent for a few cases. Which is why certain name variants are counted together for common name purposes
A.J.//Smith is filtered to be A./J./Smith[A.J. Smith] - The filter forces the common name to be A. J. Smith A.J.//Smith[Albert Smith] is filtered to be A./J./Smith[Albert Smith] - The filter forces the common name to be A. J. Smith A./J./Smith is filtered to be A./J./Smith A./J./Smith[Albert Smith] is filtered to be A./J./Smith[Albert Smith] A. J.//Smith is filtered to be A./J./Smith A. J.//Smith[Albert Smith] is filtered to be A./J./Smith[Albert Smith] Albert//Smith Jr. Filters to be Albert//Smith, Jr.[Albert Smith Jr.] Albert//Smith Sr. Filters to be Albert//Smith, Sr.[Albert Smith Sr.] Albert//Smith Jr.[Albert Smith] Filters to be Albert//Smith, Jr.[Albert Smith] Albert//Smith Sr.[Albert Smith] Filters to be Albert//Smith, Sr.[Albert Smith]
Now the filter alters your contribution, but not your local database immediately. But this is actually what is sent as the contribution. Your local database will reflect the changes after the contribution is approved and refreshed to your local database. | | | Last edited: by Scooter1836 |
