so I installed those drivers .. said it was installed successfully ..  the Program plays back my Blue ray fine as you can see on attached photo.. but no can read the disc ID.. says disc is not installed/ or current disc not identified ..  I do not want to upgrade to powerdvd 13  for $50    as I bought and paid for that 14 months ago.. and it never worked properly ..  so have resorted to this free playback Powerdvd10 that came on a supplied LG dvd rom disc that I bought for the PC last year ...  I can get by with no disc ID  as long as supplied disc ID code is contributed by my fellow members here .. What are you currently using to get access your disc ID .. there is probably half dozen different ways .. Let us count the ways ..

1. PowerDVD  ( what free version) ??
2..

PowerDVD12 Ultra
But more important: Win 7 Pro 64 Bit.

The generic Blu-ray support of Win XP is non-existent (simply because Blu-ray is a too young medium for this OS), it even has problems with DVDs (you need an external codec for playback).

Instead of upgrading PowerDVD (which will bring no improvement to your problem as long as you run it under XP) I strongly recommend an upgrade of your OS to (at least) Win7 (any version).
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Or he could just use this:

Works fine for me under XP.
