| Posted: | | | | I posted this in another post, and I'm thinking I didn't get any response because perhaps it was the wrong place. It tried to delete original post, but the forum won't let me, so by no means am I trying to get double the attention by double posting. When I use "By Inserted Disc" it incorrectly identifies the box set, but correctly identifies the movie and disc number. Although both box sets are the exact same movies. So as shown in the screen shot below it thinks the box set is: "12 Days of Christmas": rather than: 12 Films of Christmas: Here is what it looks like in Add to Collection: In case it matters, based on the writing on the discs, some discs side A and B are flipped, such in the example above, Home by Christmas is supposed to be side A. |

| Posted: | | | | The title of the box set has been changed along with cover art, but they must have extra discs leftover from the original box set.
the problem you have now is that for the child profiles you have to use the original artwork from the 12 Days of Christmas if the Box Set UPC is different. Since they have been already contributed by Disc id. | | | Last edited: by ateo357 |

| Posted: | | | | Check what happens if you enter the parent by UPC (733961277562) it should be identified correctly then and will automatically ask you to download and/or attach the correct boxset content. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

12 Films of Christmas (2013) is not yet in the database. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. [Ken Cole, DVD Profiler Architect] |

| Posted: | | | | Amazon has it listed as UPC 031398177364, which is not in the DB.
You will need to ADD DVD by UPC. Add the title and add it to your collection. Then you will need to build the Profile and add the Discs. |

Simply check on the back of your boxset which UPC is imprinted there and use that one. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | I think the problem he is having is with the child profiles. But to walk through it just to be sure...
Parent Profile: Use UPC on the back of the box to add to your collection. This may or may not give you the correct cover art and title. Since we can't have more then one profile with the same UPC + Locality we have to go by original release. You may have a rerelease of the set with a different cover and title.
Child Profiles: Use Add by Inserted Disc. Obviously this is giving the info of the set you do not have. Once again since you can't add 2 different child profiles under the same disc ID we must go by the original release.
If your release doesn't match what is in the online database all you can do at this time is change the different info locally. And don't forget to lock the fields that you changed so they don't get over-written. Do not submit this info for everyone else... per contribution rules we must stay with original release info. | | | Pete |

If I understood him correctly the UPC he's looking for is for this one: | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

733961277562 is in the DB as "12 Days of Christmas". This is what the disc is associating 031398177364 Is not in the DB "12 Films of Christmas", which is what he wants I Think | | | Last edited: by CharlieM |

Any harm in adding to collection using the wrong UPC (733961277562) and then simply changing the title of box set, movies and cover art? The only difference between the two sets is the UPC code, "12 days" vs. "12 films" and cover art. I would then lock the DVD set down. This would save a lot of work. |

| Posted: | | | | No problem as long as you don't try to submit the changes to the online database. Just need to lock them down and keep them local. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Well as it turned out it was easier to Add the UPC manually and then each disc using "By Inserted Disc". Then assign each disc to the box set for main.
Thank you to everyone for all your efforts! | | | Last edited: by CaptainKen |
