| Posted: | | | | Hi, i recently purchased a Blu-ray from Spain (Tres 60). (5051893155662) The (age)-rating on the Case says "No recomendada para menores de 16 años" Meaning: Not recommed for minors below 16 The problem is: DVD Profiler does not have this rating to choose. Which is no wonder, because according to wikipedia there are only the following ratings (which are in DVDP): APTA – Suitable for all audiences Especialmente Recomendada para la Infancia – Especially suitable for small children 7 – Not recommended for audiences under 7 13 – Not recommended for audiences under 13 18 – Not recommended for audiences under 18 Película X – Pornographic or extremely violent content The spanish wikipedia however lists more ratings: 'T' (autorizada para todos los públicos) 'T¡' (autorizada para todos los públicos y recomendada para la infancia) '7' (no recomendada para menores de 7 años) '7¡' (no recomendada para menores de 7 años y recomendada para la infancia) '12' (no recomendada para menores de 12 años) '16' (no recomendada para menores de 16 años) '18' (no recomendada para menores de 18 años) 'X' (pornografía) So my question is: Apart from sending a support ticket/feature request which might get included in the next version of DVD Profiler (which might be some time off), how would you add this disc? Thanks Stefan |

| Posted: | | | | The best thing you can do is going straight to the source: http://www.mcu.es/cine/CE/BBDDPeliculas/BBDDPeliculas_Index.htmlThe second link "Descarga del fichero de películas calificadas (vídeo y DVD)" is a download link to an excel spreadsheet. Search for your movie using its ICAA number (it should be somewhere in your back cover, close to the rating text "No recomendada para menores de 16 años") Hope this can help. |

The TP/7/13/18 system is what I have known since "I don't remember when", and it has worked for me submitting profiles of almost all of my contributions. It seems it has indeed changed, it must be somthing really new. |

| Posted: | | | | Whatever's listed on online retailers sites it's what's on the box that counts for profiler purposes. In this case I would leave the rating blank until the program is fixed. People can check the scan for the rating if need be.
Incidentally the wikipedia page for the film, which I guess may have some official input, lists it as the 16 años one. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |

But if this is a recent change, the fix to the problem needs to allow both old and new system, i.e. it needs to add the new ratings without removing the old ones. @wedge_san: Since you're a native, could you google a bit in Spanish when this change came about? I assume there would be some kind of press release. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for all your input and tips. wedge_san: I checked the Excel File and found Tres 60 and it is rated 16 as it says on the case.
I will update the profile to not include a rating and see if this will be changed in the future. |

I wasn't suggesting otherwise. We know Ken can split ratings thanks to the film/tv selection. Although that's a far from ideal solution to this problem, as TV appears in the drop down even when the localilty doesn't use TV ratings. As for press releases I couldn't find an obvious one on what looks like an official website But then I don't speak Spanish so it would be easy to miss. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Lithurge |

| Posted: | | | | Here's a press release: http://cultura.elpais.com/cultura/2010/02/18/actualidad/1266447613_850215.htmlIt seems this system has been in effect since February 2010 (And I didn't notice... I need to get out of my cave more often) In the upper right corner are the icons to use for each rating, that Ken might want to use. My fiance is calling me to dinner, so I can't explain any more now. I'll write again tomorrow. |

| Posted: | | | | From left to right, top to bottom: For all ages. Not recomended for people younger than seven. Specially recomended for children. For all ages. Specially recomended for children. Not recomended for people younger than seven. Not recomended for people younger than twelve. Not recomended for people younger than sixteen. Not recomended for people younger than eighteen. X-rated. The symbol inside the cone in the "Specially recomended for children" categories is not a lower case "i", but an opening exclamation mark: ¡ (ascii code 173). Since this is not a category of its own, but an addendum to the "For all ages" and "Not recomended for people younger than seven" categories, I'm guessing that Ken might use a checkbox on this one. This clasification is not a law restriction, but only a guide to be used by parents and educators. A 12 year old can buy a "Not recomended for people younger than eighteen" movie. The only exception is for X-rated movies: You do have to be 18 or older. As for the icons, I haven't seen them anywhere until yesterday. I think that they are briefly shown on screen at the begining of the movie when they are broadcasted on the tv, but since I almost watch no tv, I can't tell for sure. Maybe some spanish fellow have something to say about this. I haven't seen any of these icons on a DVD or Blu-ray package yet. @MiDiAN: Was there an icon on your Blu-ray? Best regards to you all. |

| Posted: | | | | Thank you wedge_san! I can't say for sure if there was one of these icons on the disc itself, but i am fairly certain that there was none on the packaging. I searched all over the case for the rating. I'll check when i get home this evening. It is a fairly unique disc anyway: It is a combo-package containing both the Blu-ray and the DVD. The Cover has a large Artwork showing the main actor and a blue bar on top saying "Todo en uno. Blu-ray+DVD" One Edition for both formats. If you flip the case, there is no backcover but a second cover instead with a different artwork and a red bar on top saying the same only the other way round (DVD+Blu-ray). When you open the case, the inside of the inlay has what normally would be the backcover, with the overview and more information on the movie. The Technical specs+ratings are nowhere on the inlay (Cover/Backcover/Inside/Backside), but are printed on a sticker that was placed on the plastic foil the case came in. Never seen anything like that before. |
