| Posted: | | | | On the Man of Steel blu-ray there is a featurette called New Zealand: Home to Middle Earth, which is a featurette about the Hobbit movie.
Since this featurette has nothing to do with the movie Man of Steel in any way do we list it under other features or does the featurette checkbox include/cover ALL featurettes regardless if it has anything to do with the main movie or not? |

| Posted: | | | | Well, the rule as written specifies that the featurette is documentary material regarding the film, or those associated with it. Just going by this it would not be included. | | | I don't wanna be like everyone else, that's why I'm a mod, see? |

| Posted: | | | | It can be listed under Other Features.. though it does seem odd they add a featurette that has nothing to do with the release. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | The "regarding the film, or those associated with it" note ensures that it doesn't qualify as a "Featurette" here. As such, it can be listed in the "Other Features" field. |

| Posted: | | | | I love how blu-ray.com commented on this one in their review last week: New Zealand: Home to Middle Earth (1080p; 6:35). You can explain to me why this Hobbit related supplement is included, because I frankly have no idea. | | | My phpDVDprofiler collection |

| Posted: | | | | According to a post on DVD Talk forum: Quote: its apparently part of a deal the studio made with New Zealand for tax breaks to film there to have the country promoted on more then one movie. |

| Posted: | | | | When I saw the thread title, I knew it'd be about this extra. I had assumed the folks who authored the disc used The Hobbit's template or whatever and forgot to remove this. Makes sense it's part of a deal though. I think it would've made more sense to create a more generic New Zealand promotional spot. As it is, it's essentially a making of featurette about the scenery in The Hobbit. | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection My Letterboxd Page |

| Posted: | | | | As I was checking this DVD against the existing profile, I wondered what the .... I guess we will be seeing more of this. But you can bet your bottom dollar, some how, some way money had something to do with it.

| Posted: | | | | Note that it's not required to out this in the "Other Features" field - you can also simply choose to leave it out. Heck, recently I've come accross discs with commercials for M&M's on it - I sure as hell won't be listing "M&M's Commercial" in the "Other Features" field there... If we can ignore that, then maybe there's something to say for ignoring this as well. |
