| Posted: | | | | Hi, I recently contributed a new DVD called "The Back-up Plan" UPC 9-317731-075353.
It was approved and released two days ago. From the DVD Profiler Windows application, I refreshed my updated profiles from Invelos. I then uploaded to the web. From my iPhone & iPad, when I download from the online record, I don't get the cover images.
On my devices, I removed the movie record and sync'ed again - same problem. I deleted the DVD again and this time tried to add via title and UPC. The record appears in the online list but has only a low quality front cover for both sides instead of the high quality front & back images I uploaded. I added the title via these two methods but when it appears in my device, there is still no image. I have rebooted the devices and tried for the past day to get this working.
Was there some error in the contribution process? Should I re-contribute the images?
If you can fix this or suggest what I may be doing wrong, please advise.
Much appreciated. |

| Posted: | | | | if you want the same images that you have on your pc - then sync to the PC (not the web).
If you want the images that are accepted in the database (and images you load are resized) - then sync to the web and get those images.
Personally, I sync to my PC.. | | | Paul |

| Posted: | | | | I've just tried adding this by UPC to the android app, but it doesn't find it. However I can find it when searching by title, which seems odd.
Ignoring the above issue what downloads for me has the correct higher resolution front and back cover scans. Are you sure you downloaded the correct version? The second entry (9317731078859) has the front cover for both front and back images.
As Pauls suggest I would start synching with the PC desktop version, that way you know you have exactly what you've got locally. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | Might be related to this problem, so probably best to report this directly to Invelos. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the feedback. I have uploaded approx 50 movie titles recently with no problem (so I know how to do it properly) and I always sync to web as that allows me to easily sync with multiple iOS devices.
The UPC is correct and that is the one that I want since it is my actual DVD. I know I can add the same title with different UPC but then it would not be my contributed content.
When I contributed, I uploaded front & back images as usual. However, as I said in my post above, the cover images in the online version shows only a low quality front image for both sides.
After the last suggestion, I checked whether I had incorrectly listed this as adult content and maybe that was why the images were blocked - however that is not the case.
I will take this up directly with Invelos support.
Thanks for all the suggestions. |

| Posted: | | | | Tested this profile and am able to add it via PC, Android, and iOS, including images. Possibly it is a caching issue, try rebooting the device in question, or try removing and adding the entry again. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks Ken I have removed the DVD & rebooted my iOS device. However each time I re-add the DVD, whether by UPC or title, the end result on my device has no image. As mentioned below, when I search the Invelos database for this UPC, the cover image is just a low quality version of the front cover in both places... How could that happen???
Strange behaviour as it has not happened before. Any other thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks again. |

| Posted: | | | | Tonight I will try removing it completely from my devices & PC & resync as if I no longer owned the DVD. I will then re-add the DVD via UPC from the PC.
I will update with my results.
Thanks |

| Posted: | | | | Hmmm... Still no joy.
I deleted the DVD from both iOS devices & my PC, then sync'd all devices so none of them had the movie. On the PC, I added the DVD via UPC. I found the movie & previewed it to prove that the cover images were there & correct - they were.
I uploaded from the PC. Then I downloaded to my iOS devices but the images don't appear again...
Has anyone experienced this behaviour?
Thx |

I had to totally delete the app & all it's data. I then re-booted & re-installed the app & did a full download of my online database. I then located my DVD in the Invelos database & added it to my collection. Now it appears perfectly on the iPhone.
Frustrating... Corruption somehow crept in...
Will try on the iPad when I get home. |

Glad you got it sorted, but I wasn't trying to imply you didn't know what you were doing with contributions. We had no issues downloading the correct covers and I've never seen an instance where a double front cover is downloadable except where this is what's been uploaded to the database. This suggests something is wrong locally and there's always a valid point in getting the obvious issues out of the way to make sure the actual problem is identified. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | Hi again.
No offense intended. I was purely adding extra detail to my story.
This now works from the iPad too, after deleting the app completely and re-downloading it. After re-sync'ing with the online database, the DVD covers now display correctly.
Another lesson in trying all local options first when things like this go wrong...
All good. Thanks for listening. Hopefully this has helped someone else out there as well. |

| Posted: | | | | Well, what do you know, it happened again. I uploaded "Over the Top" UPC 5-021456-157006. After it was released, I sync'd but the images did not appear in my iOS devices again. The only way to fix was to delete the App from the iOS device and reinstall from scratch. The new movie covers now appear... I wonder if it could be related to the recent iOS7 update? These are the only two DVDs I have added since that update. As a further fault-finding step, I ran "Repair Profile Database" so will see if that has any impact for next time. I will be gettng some new movies for my birthday later this month Hmmm... |

| Posted: | | | | Well, it happened again... When I downloaded my latest contribution to my iphone & ipad, the cover images do not appear at all. The only way to get my new cover images to appear is to delete the app from the Apple device, which deletes all saved data, and then reinstall the app and redownload all data.
For my birthday, I received a number of new movies. I added most of them directly to my ipad via the scan barcode option. All perfect. I synched with the online database and then downloaded to my iphone. All still good.
I then created a contribution for "Fast & Furious 6 Movie Collection" UPC 9-317731-102660 via my PC. I uploaded the data to my online database and synched with my Apple devices. Of course at first, all data appeared except for the cover images as they are not available until they have been released by the Team. Then once the contribution is released, I go to the PC and get all updates for my online database. Once the PC version is up to date, I upload to my online database and then go to my Apple device and downlaod all updates. In the past (approx 50 contributions) this then downloaded the updated cover images and all was good. However, now, I simply do not get the cover images.
I have tried all previous suggestions. I deleted the movie from my ipad database, rebooted and resynched with the online database - same problem. I delete the movie again and then add it to my ipad as if it was a brand new purchase - same problem. When I see the movie in the available list of movies online, I see only a low quality image of the front cover with the back the same as the front. As I said at the start, the only way to get my cover images correct is to completely delete the app and recreate everything from scratch. At that time, when I view the online movie, I CAN see both sides of the cover in good quality...
What could have gone wrong? Is there some local setting which prevents me from downloading my own cover images?
What I will try next time is this - I will make my contribution from the PC. I will then NOT upload to my online database. After the contribution is released, I will search for it via barcode from the ipad and add it as if it was a completely new purchase. Maybe I corrupt something by uploading before it is fully released...
Hopefully someone else reads this and can suggest a solution. I will post my result of the above test when next I get a movie - prob Xmas time...
Thx for listening! |

| Posted: | | | | I'm having the same problem, it seems. When synching new contributions by myself to my iPad through the online, covers do not download. When it's new contributions by somebody else, everything's fine. Very, very weird: why wouldn't this work for my own contributions only? |
