Hi, I'm a newbie.

5 days old to be precise.

Firstly, I just want to say how much I am enjoying DVD profiler.

Apologies in advance for these 3 dumb questions

(1)  I made my on-line account private when I registered and so far I have had 362 views, can anyone explain how to make it private? I did tick the privacy box.

(2) Invite Friends. Does this just give them access to my on-line collection? Or does it allow them to view what I can see when I open up DVD profiler? i.e. allow them the capacity to search etc?

(3)  I have noticed while perusing my ever expanding collection that several entries have been assigned the  front sleeve for both back & front or are missing their back sleeve?  Is there a way I can view my collection in the collection list by the back image only? Or do I have to  manually click on each title separately to determine their image status?

Many thanks in advance

1)
Your online-collection is "Private" already.
Only you and your friends can see it.
Regarding the high view-count, the counter goes up 1 for every click in the online-collection, so 362 is easy to reach all by yourself.

2)
"Friends" are only capable of viewing your online-collection.
Direct access to your local database is possible too, provided you are enabling "Sharing" in the main-program.

3) For viewing back-images only it's probably best to temporarily disable the front-images.
This can be done from menu "View -> Windows" and unflagging "Front Images"
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Hi, I'm a newbie.

Welcome to the asylum.

(1) As Lewis_Prothero already said, it is private. If the count did go up by five in the last hour, that was me reloading but still only seeing the "Private Collection"-note

(2) Invite Friends only give them access to your private online collection. And just in case you are not already aware of it: you can only invite friends that have a DVD Profiler Forum Account! I think/hope a free account should suffice.

(3) There is a report "Invelos Cover Image Pairs". You could use that to print a report of all your covers and look where front and back are the same. And by print of course I don't mean on paper but as an XPS-document (Microsofts-PDF-light) which should be installed as a printer by default since Vista.

as for #3...

you can download the database query plugin from the downloads section of this site, this plugin can automatically pull up all missing images / duplicate images, and give you a list, flag them to use in reports or tags, or just pull them up each time you want to spend some time updating the missing parts.

welcome to the community, and don't forget to upload your scans to the online database so the next person has the correct front and back covers, this is after all, a fully user built database.

"Friends" are only capable of viewing your online-collection.

However, each "Fiend" must be individually granted this access right.
