Multiple contributions, from the same user to the same profile, are possible when they include the addition of a new birth year. Those contributions immediately go into "Reviewing" status and, unlike "regular" contributions, won't be overwritten by the next contribution. So in the screenshot that you've posted, I'd say that the first two include a new birth year. This has been "normal" behaviour for quite a long time already. |

| Posted: | | | | Unfortunately, when you submit a contribution, the system does not tell you if another contribution has been received by Invelos for that profile but not yet accepted by the system. Since it is in a "pending status, it is possible for someone to submit a new change not knowing that someone has already submitted it. This just happened to me two days ago. | | | Hal |

But they are all from the same person. The OPs scenario has nothing to do with what you are saying. |

| Posted: | | | | Kulju's rght I've found that if I've submitted a second update without withdrawing the previous one it just overwrites the first contribution.
However the issue described is something I've experienced when the connection to Invelos' servers is flaky. I've found if it takes a long time for the contribution to go through then I get a double submission show up. When this happens I also usually find it difficult or impossible to connect to get an update or download a new profile from the online database.
As this only seems to last a short time then most people probably never experience it. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | The first two contibutions for the profile have a new BY, so they cannot be overwritten. Since I was not sure, whether my contributed image is in the contribution (there is no reveived sign at image status) I made a third contribution with the image and nothing more. | | | Think different
Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end. |

Tim is correct When a contribution is in reviewing state the next contribution of the same profile and same person will not overwrite the old one. The one in reviewing stat stays there. So when resubmitting something that is in reviewing state the user has to withdraw the first (if needed). |

So in the screenshot that you've posted, I'd say that the first two include a new birth year. The first two include the very same birth year, to be precise. The last two include the very same images again. But my curiosity is satisfied, thank you, Sir. Is it ok to vote against the second and third contribution? According to The Rules, Before You Contribute: "Are you duplicating the contribution that is pending, just contributing the same information again?" | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. According to The Rules, Before You Contribute: "Are you duplicating the contribution that is pending, just contributing the same information again?" You could. It doesn't serve any purpose, though: the oldest "Reviewing" contribution will be processed first, after which the second contribution will be empty. From what I've seen, Invelos will consistently decline empty contributions, disregarding any votes (either way). Voting on the third contribution, with images only, might have an (unwanted?) side-effect, though: it's likely that that contribution will be processed before the "Reviewing" contributions are (as the latter take longer), so if you'd like to see the new images released quicker, you might want to vote "yes" to that third contribution. if it fails, they'll get another chance when the (first) "Reviewing" contribution is processed. |
