| Posted: | | | | What is the correct title for this set? My first instinct is Star Trek: Voyager: Season One because that's what's printed on the box itself, but after considering the rear image I'm not so sure. --------------- | | | Last edited: by scotthm |

| Posted: | | | | I would always use the front title to enter to the database. |

| Posted: | | | | I use "Star Trek: Voyager: The Complete First Season"
When found on the shelf at the store, "The Complete First Season" is seen as part of the front cover. Although "Season One" is also on the front cover, it would be redundant to include it. I don't think anyone with any sense would argue that "on DVD" should be part of the title...at least I hope not.
Put it your database the way you prefer it and lock it. Problem solved. | | | Hal |

Mainly it was decided "On DVD" was part of the title per rules... and those of us that didn't like it had to lock our titles locally. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | It's just annoying and this is not the only example, that companies keep mentioning 2 times the same thing in 2 different ways.
Why do they keep doing that? It's useless to say: Season 1 and then title it again at the bottom "The complete first season on dvd"
My two cents: use "Season 1" as it's the most goingable. | | | Last edited: by jurgen42u |

I don't think anyone with any sense would argue that "on DVD" should be part of the title. I don't see how you could justify including "The Complete First Season" without including "on DVD", so that then calls into question whether any of the phrase "The Complete First Season on DVD" should be part of the title at all. --------------- |

the wording at the bottom I see as a informational statement and not as a title or edition. |

--------------- It's easy for me and not even worth attempting to explain. That's why I rarely comment here anymore. People don't really want the opinions of others..they want to convince others of their opinion! What difference does it make how it's in the online database when you can make it whatever you want? | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

Isn't DVD Profiler an application where you catalogue titles that you own on DVD (or Blu ray)? So why would I have to tell myself in the title that's it's not on VHS? And don't we already have a field to identify that it's either DVD or Blu ray? More slavish conformance to a rule when it makes zero sense. Just reminds me why I stay away from here. | | | Hal |

--------------- Are you sure it's printed on the box, it looks rather like it's printed on the disc, if that is a transparent case of some sort. I was going to say that we can't include media types in titles but apparently that rule only applies to the edition field. Well, more strange rules for you then. I would accept either title for the online but lock my local, per usual. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | Amd I was wrong about the rule too: "Do not enter media types (such as "Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy") into the edition or title field."
Well, cut "on DVD" then. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |
