Via the CLT I found an Aaron Paul in a Hidden Title profile for a movie called BeachBoy.

The profile shows the following.
Aaron Paul as DJ in Club (as DJ Aaron Paul).

If this cast member is credited as DJ Aaron Paul, would DJ be an honorific?

If so, the above profile should be:
Aaron Paul [DJ Aaron Paul]

I'd say yes because it's a job description similar to Dr. or Lt. Gen.

I disgaree it's not an honorific because it's a self bestowed title and is more akin to a stage name.

Dr's, Lt. Gen's etc... are bestowed by a recognised body of one form or another, University, medical council, army etc...

In this case it may look like a "Job Description", I'd handle this as stage-name though.

Compare the (in German area notorious) "DJ Oetzi", "MC Hammer" or other musical prefixes that usually are part of the (stage-) name.

This would lead to DJ Aaron Paul / / or DJ / Aaron / Paul, depending on your interpretation of the stage-name parsing.

It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Why I brought this up was to find if the BY for the more famous Aaron Paul is needed because of this profile.

I don't see this as a honorific, and would treat this particular example as a stage name.

I agree with most here... that it would be more of a stage name. Mainly because of this...

Stage Name IMHO.

There *may" be some cases where a DJ uses his real name wih a DJ-prefix, but mostly they are known only by their self-chosen stage names, not by their real names.

Adult.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.
