| Posted: | | | | I was editing a new profile in the Ordered tab - Iron Man 3 - which isn't out and doesn't have a profile.
I went to add Robert Downey Jnr and saw a number of different names existed - one with a birth date. - the incredible Hulk.
I wanted to amend that profile so I used the option to go to that profile (whilst I was editing the original iron man 3 in ordered).
immediately, the profile for Incredible Hulk was overwritten with ALL the details (apart from personal) replaced with what I had been editing.
Restarting DVd profile had no affect and I had to refresh the profile from the master database to RESTORE all the details - name, cast etc etc. | | | Paul |

Obviously it's a significant bug that needs fixing. | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

| Posted: | | | | +1 agree .. I had a similar situation a few weeks back where one of my profiles I was editing was totally changed to another profile including the covers - over written..
had to go into my backup and find the title in question and reload it ....
thought it was something I had done .. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

I admit I didn't try a repair - but all the data had been copied from another profile except the personal data. And it remained even after a restart and there wasn't any error reading the data - it was just copied in from another profile - so I don't believe a Db repair would have made any difference. | | | Paul |

| Posted: | | | | I don't know how exactly the underlaying database works but sometime you get the effect that you select one profile in the program but accidentally another profile gets marked as selected. When you now edit the data, you accidentally write the data from one profile into the other.
A database repair corrects these wrong associations. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

A database repair corrects these wrong associations. in this case, I was editing a new record which I was in the process of adding (and hadn't even completed adding it to the Ordered list). And I was using the option the program gave me to view another profile which had a cast member I was adding. | | | Paul | | | Last edited: by pauls42 |

I also had that problem, with a profile's data changed to another (except covers and gallery images). Database repair did nothing, and I had to restore the correct profile from a backup file. | | | Images from movies |

Ken probably didn't anticpiate that another selection but the one in the main profile list could cause another profile to be marked and this the editing results are written into the wrong profile. I could probably happen with two existing profiles as well if choose to "view another profile" while editing. Maybe Ken should look into that scenario. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
