I get an error "Access Violation" eveverytime I try to add a new DVD to my collection, which means I cannot add it.  I have sent this in for technical support, but everything I have been told does not fix this issue.  Has anybody else experienced this and or know how to fix this problem.

Thank you for any help on this... J-Man

Insufficient data:

- Which suggestions did not help?
- What's the exact text of the Error message?
- We need some system details (OS-version, RAM-size, version of DVD-Profiler)
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

You have one or more of he following problems:

Corrupt database - run database repair
Ill-behaving plugin - disable all plugins until you figure out which one is causing the problem
Security issues - make sure the User that is logged on, has valid access to DVDP data folders. Try running DVDP "As Administrator".

Check all of those items. Don't assume anything. Next time you post, if you are still having the issue, please answer Lewis_Prothero's questions, as well as give us a detailed report on what happened when you did the things I suggested.
Thanks for your support.

Have you tried the the suggestions offered?

Start with a database repair - that usually fixes most errors.

If you don't know how - go to the top of profiler > Tools > Options > Utilities > Repair Profiler Database.

This will take some time but once it is done, try entering a DVD to your collection to see if the problem is still happening.

As long as you refuse to provide the minimum information needed (compare second post in this thread), I'm afraid that no one will be able to help you.

The error-text you provided indicates one of the errors suggested by mediadogg.
Did you try (any of) his suggestions?

I took your suggestion and went back to mediadoggs posting and It says run Database Repair, which I tried before.  I found under FILE, Restore Databse.  I tried that and so far so good it seems to work.. I want to thank you all for the help...It feels good to be able to update my collection again...

FYI, I did try every suggestion, except for 2 of them..I did not try Ill-behaving plug in. and I am not sure what DVDP is, But I did check my Key and that has never changed or been messed with.  Thanks again..
