| Posted: | | | | I bought the double disc of Tm Hank's Big today in the markdown bin.. ( $5.00) and it has all the features as described thru Invleos but no 6 page booklet .. In this age of double new disc ID's and changed artcovers how do we go about this.. ? Maybe that is why it is 1/3 price over Amazon and Barnes and Noble..
It had the security sticker across the top of the case as well as factory shrink-wrap .. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

| Posted: | | | | For big studio releases, things like slipcovers, digital copies, and booklets are really only limited to the first few printings. If you don't buy them within the first few months, all bets are off. | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection My Letterboxd Page | | | Last edited: by Rizor |

| Posted: | | | | so I can contribute with booklet removed .... ??
what I am getting at is the jacket mentions no booklet at all.. why would it be then considered okay for an earlier contribution. to be in the data base ..?. we have no way of checking this .... it should no be challenged then if voted for removal.. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | I see no reason to believe it wasn't originally released with a booklet. So no... this is not something to be contributed. As the rules themselves say it is the original release is what is to stay for the online.
What kind of evidence gives you the idea it wasn't originally released with a booklet? If you have no more reasoning then your copy didn't come with one and it is not listed on the cover.... that is no reason to think it didn't originally. I have many... MANY releases where it came with a booklet but said booklet is not listed on the cover.
Once again I would say change it locally and lock it. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | You got a cut rate re-release. Any difference between your DVD and the original profile, chances are you won't be able to change. I have re-releases that only have the Pan & Scan instead of the original WS/P&S but the same UPC. |

Don't know why they couldn't change the UPC.... some releases get multiple UPCs for the same exact disc. | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server | | | Last edited: by DoubleDownAgain |

'Most' dvd jacket rear art say there is a booklet included ., and iif it is an important additional extra for this.,, .. I'm just wondering how this initially got introduced.. there is nothing in the crib notes for contributions about this .. I can just lock this off of course .. but if there is no booklet to start with .. I'd like to hear if there ever was ..... | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | In my experience 'Most' jackets don't mention the fact a booklet is included. Makes sense if it's a limited item as it avoids having to change the cover to remove any mention when they run out.
I also find that most contributors don't explicitly mention the booklet on initial submission, not something I'd ever do myself as it's not necessary. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Lithurge |

| Posted: | | | | I have 40 titles that say in the features box .. Booklet but only 50% of them actually list this on the back of the jacket .. so I wouldn't say " seldomly ever " .. but Half instead .. Obviously the title I have of Big would fall in the other side of the 50% .. There could also be the possibility that a booklet could be included in the USA locality but not the Canada locality ( the rear jacket design for the overview is set-up differently than the USA one is .. but when contributed this was never corrected.. the entire features and format was transferred over to Canada locality .. including the six page booklet mention ..... Therefore if included .-should never be contributed if locality features are differant .... | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | Our comments where going by our experience with it. In my case for example... 72 with booklet listed in the profile... only 20 of which mention it on the case. Pretty seldom in MY experience.
Edit to say... Locality issue is just more guesswork. You need more then guesswork to just remove it. | | | Pete | | | Last edited: by Addicted2DVD |

| Posted: | | | | Old MGM dvds were the ones that would mention "collectible booklet" with the features on back. If any other studio has done it, they didn't do nearly all their releases like MGM from 1998 to 2002 or so. Hate when I get a used copy of one of those old MGM's without a booklet. It's easier to ignore not having it when it's not pointed out to you everytime you look at the back cover! |
