X-Men: First Class lists many make-up effects/make-up artists. I figure it's a given that we should include people actually credited as Make up Supervisors or Make up Artists, but what about "Make up crew" or long lists of names that come after company credits? Also, as different Make up artists worked on different characters would it be okay to include group headers like "Mystique Make up Artists" to contextualize their work? Should these "Make up artists" be listed in the profile as make-up effects?

(Note: For the above image, I Photoshopped together successive screenshots to make it easier to read.)

Looking at the different profiles, each seems to do it different ways. For example, one profile included only Alec Gillis, Tom Woodruff, and the names listed in the "Mystique Make Up Artists" group. Another profile lists everyone from Alec Gillis through the names in the "Beast Make Up" group, but excludes everyone who worked on Mystique.

I would leave off anything that is listed under crew-not specific enough, could be mold makers, etc. so it would be Gillis, Woodruff, Elsey, Qu and all the remaining except Emma Mash, since they are Makeup artists.
I would use headers for the 2 company names, not sure about the last 3 names since no company affiliated, but rules do say: Group names of crew members together within each role available and list in exactly the same order credited. To do that you need a group header.

I agree with ateo on everything except his last sentence.  That wording has alway been odd because of the way the program works.  The way we enter crew credits, under predefined roles, we have no choice but to group them together within each role available.  As long as we enter them in the exact order listed, company headers included, then we have followed the rule...my opinion, of course.

As for using group headers for the specific crew role name, I have never done that.  I always use the 'Custom Role' field for that.

I agree with Martian with the last three. If we grouped them with a header, then everyone will start adding headers for Mr. Travolta's Makeup by, etc.  and so forth. It would turn into a mass of headers for all makeup artists that are listed for each star.

Thanks! Your opinions are in line with what I was thinking. Any thoughts about the Mystique and Azazel "Make-up Artists"? Should they be entered as make-up artists or make-up effects? The nature of the make-up seems to be more make up effects, but they're credited as make-up artists.

While I personally prefer make-up effects, because that is what it is, I am not sure everybody would agree because the credit is 'make-up artist'.  While I will use make-up effects locally, as far as the online is concerned, either works for me.

Agree. Should be no conflicts that way.
