| Posted: | | | | What i wanted to do:
I want to share some profiles with another member and wanted to create a new database for him, that i can exchange.
What i did: 1. I created a new database and copied my default database into it. 2. deleted all not needed profiles incl. images 3. closed database -> repair database and remove all unused cast & crew 4. create backup of database (this is the file i wanted to share)
The profile includes only around 40 profiles but the created backup.dpd is over 700 mb!
What have i done wrong? What can i do to get the file smaller? |

| Posted: | | | | What I do is to do Custom Back-up and exclude Cover Scans, Custom Credit Photos and Gallery Photos (and Reports in my case).
For me that does over 4000 profiles in about 10Mb.
When doing a restore at the 'othe end' I just refresh the cover scans | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong | | | Last edited: by Voltaire53 |

include cast/crew databases with photos This option bloats the backup-file. Perform a manual database repair and unflag "Preserve Cast/Crew with images". This should significantly shrink the file. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Perform a manual database repair and unflag "Preserve Cast/Crew with images". This should significantly shrink the file. Thanks, that was the right option to unflag. No, the file is about 6 mb. |
