| | Posted: | | | | Hallo, the DVD profiler runs on my Win 8 64bit system. for the PTouch print i had download the "actual" plugin 2.0 from the website from Jim Richards (Mediadogg). I use a german version or translation. I use the PTouch Editor 4.3 and 5.0. For this plugin i have install the SDK Client software from brother too. I have create a label like the instruction from mediadoggs instruction-page. Now in my folder i have one label with only one textfield mit the label named "!Title" for testing. Every time when i start a print with the PTouch-button i get following message after i select the label  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fehler PTouchLabel (c) 2007,2011 Der Typeninitialisierer für "PTouchLabel.PTouch" hat eine Ausnahme verursacht. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think the plugin doesn't run with Windows 8? How can i run the plugin i compatibily-mode?? Someone the same problem? Thanks a lot for an answer Stefan |

| | Posted: | | | | I have not tested the plugin on Windows 8. Make sure you have the print driver installed, and verify that you can print directly from the Brother Label Editor to the PTouch printer. Once that works, try the plugin and report results. Thanks. | | | Thanks for your support.

| | Posted: | | | | I have tested now the printer. i can directly print to the P-touch QL-500. The label was correctly printed.The error-message allways be the same.

| | Posted: | | | | Interesting, I also got the same message before I installed the client SDK. Then I ran the plugin, but it didn't show the label. Then I installed the print driver and the label displayed properly in the plugin, and sent documents to the printer. They got stuck in the spooler, so I stopped there - I have network issue, but the plugin seemed to have worked.
Make sure to restart DVDP after you install new printer software, so that it picks up the dlls properly, | | | Thanks for your support.

Does that mean you have more in the database? Only 50 or less can be in the database, regardless of how many selected for printing. Apologies if I misunderstand your meaning. But as I said, I have not totally tested and certified that plugin for Windows 8. I was waiting for somebody to request - now you have. But I have limited time. I hope you can be patient, and I will do more some testing as I have time. What I did today, was to install the plugin on my laptop, which has Windows 8, then I downloaded the client SDK from the Brother website, and also the latest Windows 8 driver from the same web site. And the plugin seemed to work for me at that time, but my testing was very limited. | | | Thanks for your support.

May be... how work the plugin when i edit a wrong syntax in the textfile? under the Labeler i create a new label. i put a textfiled on it an renamed the Objectname under "advanced" to !Media for the test i have use only one textfield.. but i doesn't run It is the wrong way to create a label? That's what i thing i have read correct from your page. |

| | Posted: | | | | It has been a long time, so my memory is weak on this. The variables that you set up must correspond exactly to the ones I specify in the document. These variables correspond to DVD Profiler fields in the database. If you make your own variables, there is no way for my plugin to know about them. Edit - oh yes, now I see that !Media is one of them!  | | | Thanks for your support.
