I am having a discussion with another member here about an audio track.
He has verified by comparison (listening to 2 tracks - actual and commentary) that the commentary track is a mono source, the encoding of the sound however is DTS Stereo.
So which do we go with? The source material (mono) or the audio track encoding displayed by the DVD Player/Amplifier?

| Posted: | | | | From the Contribution Rules: "Note: Select Mono for both 1-channel and 2-channel mono.".
Hence the source material is the correct option. |

| Posted: | | | | This isn't too unusual. I have a lot of older Anchor Bay DVD's that almost always encoded the audio tracks as "Surround" when the source was indeed Mono.
Does the audio track technically decode as DTS Stereo, or just DTS 2-channel? | | | Corey |

Anybody's ear(s) is not a trustworthy source, and the Amplifier display might depend on the Player audio output setting. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played.
