Hello and welcome to this forum.

I seriously doubt that Disney's A Christmas Carol is missing in the database, Germany alone has 6 versions of it in the maindatabase. Which locality are we talking about?

Even though you are not allowed to add profiles to the maindatabase while you are a not a premium user, you still can add profiles to your collection. Simply open the "Add DVD..."-dialogue, choose "Add by UPC" and unflag the "Download from Invelos"-option. After clicking "OK" you have a brand-new (and sadly completely empty) profile in your database.

With this profile you can then check how hard it is to fill in the data. Many here will say that it's not that hard (me included), but those are usually contributing data for several years now, so don't trust them. Find out yourself.

If any questions arise on what data to fill in and how exactly to do that we, the users of the forum, are always there to give help and guidance. Generally it's a good idea to read the contribution rules before you do your first profile. You do not have to learn it by heart, but it's always good to where to find the basics.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
