New to DVD profiler which I've just downloaded to my iPad.
I have tried to scan 3 movies (Saawariya,Bodyguard & Jab Tak Hai Jaan) using the barcode feature with no luck.
1-Is there anyway to add movies from IMDB?
2-Add cover art from online resources (Google, IMDB,etc.) or use iPad camera?

Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance

This is a user-built database. When the barcode is not recognized, then it means there isn't a profile yet. Sadly Bollywood movies are rare in the database. I created a lot of profiles for German locality and some for the UK. But not for others.

When you add a new profile, you have to follow the contribution rules. Third party data is not allowed.

Hi,

Welcome to the DVD Profiler community.

You started off great, by adding the new profiles by barcode. TomGaines already provided a link for the contribution rules. Read them carefully.

Now, on to your points:
1 - There are some tools to add crew and cast from IMDB, but (and this a very big issue) it's not allowed to copy/paste imdb data and contribute it to the Invelos database. You'll have to visually check the crew and cast from the opening and end credits. My suggestion is: either add no cast or crew, or just the director and the main cast from the cover.

2 - Cover art can be added from the internet. Just make sure that there are no watermarks, and that the images are 500x700 pixels max. Photos are ok, but the best way is to scan them.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask around.

Thank you TomGaines & marcelb7

When adding UPC codes & movie titles, how can I also add cast?
Should I I also purchase DVD Profiler on my desktop to facilitate contributing new movies not already in the database?

I don't think vlady580 will be able to contribute profiles. That is only possible with the paid DVDP for Windows. I wish Ken would find a way to allow any user who paid for a version of DVDP to contribute.

Edit: I would recommend buying the Windows version. It offers much more functionality than the iOS version. I'm glad the iOS version exists and mostly use that, but for some things the Desktop version is still needed.
