It's a box set with two digibook. One digibook contain three BD: Promethus 3D, Prometheus 2D and a bonus disc.
The other digibook contain 6 BD: The four Alien film and two bonus disc (Making Alien Anthology and Hidden Archives).
The EAN is only for the boxset, so I sohould add the children profiles by Disc IDs.
The 3D and 2D edition are different (the 3D is region ABC, without commentary, 4 audio tracks, 5 subtitles, the 2D is region AB, 5 audio tracks, 8 subtitles, commentary).
So how many child profiles I should use? One for Prometheus and 6 for the other digibook (or 4)? Or for Prometheus and 6 for the other digibook?

Well the Alien Anthology is not a digibook, that book style packaging where the pages are just disc sleeves is entered as custom because they are not Digibooks (if that is the release you are talking about)

However on the main question.  I would say if there are no UPC/EAN's on the packages inside they you just add the child profiles.  From my understanding the only time you should add the full UPC's as the child profiles is if the packaging in the box contains UPC's.

Sounds a little complicated. But yes each film should be handled as a child. Now about the parent, this is what has me a little confused. I was unaware of this one, is there some place I can see a pic, is it in release or pre release. Now off to see what I can learn.

Absolutely, the way I see it configured kulge, is the digibooks are just another feature they have no relevance to the parent/child setup. The main box is of course the parent.I haven't seen s us release yet, I hope to.

I don't believe I would do it. But you could conceivably go with a psreent child, grandchild set up. Seems a lot of do for little return but...

Boxset
    Digibook
            Alien
              Aliens, etc
      Digibook
                Prometheus
But I don't think I would go there.

Not digibook, they are digipaks. Digibooks are a whole nuther critter usually used by Warner, for the likes of bonnie &Clyde. They are what they sound like actual books, they even have printing on the pages, lol, couldn't resist a little light humor.

You should create the parent proflie as a box set with the image being the main box, and I am htinking case type of custom (might be slip case?)

Add a child profile for each disc of case type digipak and you can put an image on the child profiles based on the interior Digipak packaging

Or at least that is how I see it (based on hte rules)

I've come to a similar conclusion, with one major exception. The 'Prometheus' bonus disc, covers only 'Prometheus' and would not get a separate profiles if we strictly follow the Contribution Rules:
Quote:
If a Box Set contains discs of Bonus Material for individual films, do not create separate profiles for these discs. Add the information to the individual film’s profile as normal for a single film 2-Disc set. If there is a disc of Bonus Material for all films included in the Box-set, create a separate profile for this disc.

This leaves us with one major bump to solve: is the 'Prometheus' bonus disc part of the 3D profile, or of the 2D profile?

Or – the only other valid option that comes to my mind – do we set up 'Prometheus' as one child profile (including all three discs) with one optional grandchild under the Bonus Feature Film rule (for either the 2D or the 3D disc). That's the way many 2D/3D standalone releases are set up, as they don't meet the box set requirement (more than one film). I'm not a big fan of such two-level nested set-ups, but considering the Rules this seems to be the most proper option.

You've got it scooter The only reason I MIGHT ho to grandchild level is if the digipak for Prometheus is markedly different from alien quad.

Theese are exactly my doubts, thank you M_E.

So, should I have one (or two, separating 2D and 3D) child for Prometheus and 6 children for the others?
Where put the Prometheus bonus disc? In separate child profile or as bonus disc for the 2D or 3D child profiles?

The 3D I presume is on its own disc, that means its own child. Probably put 3D in the edition. As for the bonus disc, and I will double check this. Because it is a part of a boxset the rules may allow for creation of a child, I say may because I have to go double check. I remember something unusual regarding bonus discs and boxes but..going to look now.

Ok Prometheus bonus is handled normally, no separate profile. If there is a boys disc which contains bonus material for more than one movie in the set, then a child can be setup.

Yes, in the box set there is a digipack with 3 BD: Prometheus (3D edition, only for 3D Blu-ray player), Prometheus (2D edition) and a bonus disc.
There is an other digipack (6 BD) also with the Alien Quadrilogy (+ 2 bonus disc).
